Neighborhood: Gellért Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.

Szent Gellert Square is a nice little square in front of the Gellert Hotel facing the River Danube.
The best option to go there is just by walking through the Liberty Bridge.
Also if you are there do not forget to go to check out the metro station of Gellert Square underneath (M4 line), which is a nice piece of architecture!

We were enjoying our first full day in Budapest by attempting to see as much as possible by walking from one attraction to the next.
Having spent the first part of the day on the Pest side of the River Danube, by late morning, we had made our way across the Liberty Bridge to visit the Buda side.
After crossing the bridge, we decided that it was time to give our legs and feet a short rest. Szent Gellert Square turned out to be a convenient spot to take a little bit of time out for a short rest. We found a low wall and just sat there for a short time watching the heavy traffic and trams go by.
There was nothing particularly special about the small square and with the heavy traffic passing by, it really was not all that peaceful. However, it did the job as a spot to enjoy our short rest!

Small square, its significance is its location. It is at the front of the St. Gellért Hotel and Spa and the foot of the Liberty Bridge and as well as under the Cave Church. Besides, there is a station ofMetro 4, and many trams are going through the square. So it has excellent public transport near several beautiful and exciting attractions. In the middle of it is the eye-catching Spring-House. From the spouts, according to the prospectus, eight different thermal spring water can be consumed, but tap water flows however in reality.

This is a nice square with a hotel near by, along a large street. There is grass and it's a pretty area with an interesting turquoise statue with water spigots. It is nice enough, but not that interesting.

Came across this pleasant square as we crossed Chain Bridge on route to the Cave Church. A nice hotel stands proud on one side.

This is a small, green square near the spa which takes its name, at the northern end of the city and therefore slightly away from the more toursisty areas. The buildings are as old and lovely as in the city itself with a more relaxed feel as one would expect and with plenty of places to sit, watch and ponder.
