We came to Budapest for the first time with hopes of having a bucolic evening with tzigane music and we found it here. It's a small family run joint, hours are variable, but it's absolutely enchanting and completely worth going to for lovers of Brahms,...More

What a place! These places shouldn’t exist anymore but this place is fantastic! Lovely beer and a strong shot of schnapps each was just what we needed! Will highly recommend 😊

We were anticipating this wonderful basement bar with great gypsy music, and very much looking forward to it. We got there about 10pm as was written on the internet. There were two elderly ladies sitting outside, and one of them told us to come back...More

This little bar is amazing. It’s named after the late husband of the owner (her name sounds like Gizzy) and she speaks enough English to ask if you want beer, wine, or schnapps. There is exactly one option of each, but who cares? You feel...More

Imagine gypsy musicians showing up here from their evening gigs elsewhere just to relax. Their idea of relaxing is to play even more outstanding music. Located in a nondescript basement, the Giero is a throwback to the 60s, when live music was just that: live...More

A Surprise down a few steps into a stone-walled pub with just a few tables in a rabbit warren of rooms. Good food and drink and great Hungarian music.

They don't even speak English. We tried to be friendly but the girl couldn't be more unfriendly. Wont go back. Definitely not recommended. Expensive

Stumbled over this place when we were walking around. Greeted by the bartender, a lovely, old woman. A strange place, but really charming and cozy. Definitely going back next time i visit Budapest

We were there on a private tour, not during regular hours. Check with Girro. I believe they have a Web site.
