Really enjoyed the 2 hour long guided tour. We learnt a lot about the history of chocolate, how it is made and how healthy it is. The founder of the museum is with a lot of passion for chocolate therefore he was the most authentic person to guide the tour. Tasting different types of chocolate is also part of the tour which was an amazing experience as well.

My favorite place to bring friends whom are visiting Budapest for the first time. Even though I've been there lots of times, being accompanied it never feels bored. It is slightly different from other "normal" museums around the city.

The one-hour long guided tour was absolutely one of the most interesting (and delicious) museum tour I have ever been. The "Chocolate Master" gave us informative information about the history of chocolate, how it is made and how can it be used. I felt that his aim was to gave authentic information -and not just sell us a story.
We have tasted approximately 10 different chocolates such as pralines, hot chocolate or raw cocoa bean.
Attention:do not eat before the tour if you want to taste everything :)
If you visit Budapest, do not miss this fantastic museum.

We called the place and they told us we cannot join the tour in Hungarian, even tho I speak Hungarian and I want to bring my grandmother to celebrate her 81st birthday. She doesnt speak english or hungarian, so it doesnt make any sense to put her in an English tour. They wont let me and my grandma visit in the normal tour because we are foreigners (been living here for 10 years) and they say we must visit the tour for foreigners (the more expensive one)

If you are in Budapest and if you love chocolate, you should definitely visit this museum. It is a unique experience compared to other chocolate museums, since it is a family business located in the suburb of the city in a beautiful building surrounded by a garden with sculptures. Both the owner of the museum and our tour guide Enikő were very nice and friendy. You can taste cocoa beans, tea, pálinka, wine and several hand-made chocolates during your visit as well as make your own or by some in the shop. We had a really great time there, I think it is a perfect place if you want to relax with your friends or family. Even if you just nearby and would like to have some chocolate or ice cream you should check it out.

Kind and thoughtful staff in a beautiful place, easily accessible by the public transport. All info about the history of chocolate was interesting and informative, and the museum is full of great historical artifacts.
Apart from all the several delicious chocolate tastings, we were served a delicious gourmet petit gateau-like dessert and high quality tea.
We will definitely recommend this to our friends!

I must say that all the way from India to that remote place of Budapest was an interesting activity for us. What made it more special for us was the hospitality extended by their staff; and the name which comes to my mind is Erica! Sorry for writing late but She has really made our experience at the museum nice and interesting. With lots of chocolate tasting and wonderful stories from Erica made our time at the museum very very nice. We enjoyed it. Thanks Erica....

The best muzeum I have ever been to. In one hour I have eaten like ten difderent kinds of deliocous and good quality chocolates. And I got like 190g of chocolate to eat and take home. And at the end you can buy more of the chocolate you liked best.

I really loved my trip to the chocolate museum, it was a beautiful building tucked away outside Budapest. We got a Taxi there, the driver had never heard of it. We were greeted at the door by a wonderful guide I can’t remember his name. The smell of chocolate as we walked in was lovely. He ask would I like to use the toilet which for me had the wow factor. This was originally a hunting lodge that belonged to a family. It was a gentle guide of the history of the building and chocolate. Lots of nice things to taste and we made our own chocolate tart that they boxed up for us to take home. We were give a lovely cake and a class of wine and tea, which we ate round the beautiful table. We met a family from Manchester and went back on the train. A wonderful trip well worth it. Lovely guide. Thank you for a wonderful memory

Is it suitable for dairy free people?

Yes and no. Be sure to tell them when you make your reservation that you have allergies as I did. They were able to make some substitutions, but not for every tasting. There were plenty of dairy-free options in the shop though!
