The greatest river ever! Great walking paths, bushy forest among, silence, great creatures like giant mayfly... Wild river, wild nature, great places, great food and drink! Love it! What you can do, tips: Rent a boat, kayak, or just simply swim, or just walk and enjoy the peace there. Fishing (use green worm), have bbq, or use a kettle, locals knows good tricks making nice food out there (use local ground paprika). Take a tent with you, or a sleeping bag, must have experience. Don't forget the local wines, and spirit call "palinka"!!! Visit Tokaj: Famous wines, there is also a live music event at summer (Tokaj fetival)! Fun! Love it!

When my husband and I travel, we like to get off the beaten path. We certainly succeeded by staying at the Hableány Hotel in Tiszafüred, Hungary! The hotel room was adequate but basic (it cost extra to use the AC). Best we coudl tell, there is virtually nothing to do in the area. We took a boat tour of the river, which was nice, but served as our only activity in two days other than riding bikes the hotel loaned us into the less-than-quaint nearby town. The staff was unable to help us as no one spoke English or French, and our Magyar was limited by our phrasebook. We had to draw pictures and pantomime. We made the best of it, but Tisza was certainly the lowpoint of our tour of Hungary and Romania. We wish we had gone to Lake Balaton. On the up side, there were none of the crowds we had read about in Balaton!
