You take a time and have to go. It is well worth it. Here is moderately high and the city does not look too small. The city look beautiful on the open sea.

Amazing views from here and really interesting. Make sure you bring suitable shoes as the steps are very steep and require care

The walk uphill is absolutely worth it. Walking on this historic segment of the city wall not only imparts a sense of history, but it also provides great views of the historic town. Reasonably priced and a must for visitors. By walking a little farther...More

Definitely worth the walk up you will have the best views and photos of the city from the walls. Opens from 8 am to dusk and the price to enter is 2 euros for adults. Up hill to get there and lots of stairs and...More

Really amazing views of Piran, only 2 euros per adult, kids (5 and 7 years old) loved it, some stairs offer a narrow space to get through (like you have to watch your head and bend a lot) but the kids loved that. It probably...More

Yes, this is on the top of a hill and there is some climbing up narrow stairs/steps and gaps to squeeze through. But the views and the €2 entry fee where worthwhile. You can see all of Piran and the surrounding coastline and countryside. Worth...More

Basically you can. But I would not do it. When we were there it was always overcrowded with no free space. And you have to pay a fee for entering the town first. But if you really have to you may find your way around. Good... More

Town Walls Piran (1 Replies)
Hello, I shall be driving from Bled to Ljubljana with my wife and an 11m old kid, we wish to cover Piran as a day trip, what all is advisable to do. I wish to know the following as well, 1. Should we add Postojana Caves on our way? 2. I have heard n read a lot of good things about Town Walls, but not very clear about the steep climb. I plan to carry my daughter in Baby Bjorn (baby carry bag). Is that a doable trip for us? If yes, what is the best time to visit the walls. Many thanks

The trek up to the town walls is very doable with a Baby Bjorn. There is a turn style to enter the walls which may require some maneuvering. Once in/on the walls there are some narrow passageways with steps, but I think you should be able to manage, although I did see myself where someone had left a backpack and tripod at the bottom of the steps in order to make the trip up! Once you're up there, the views are spectacular.
