bridge over river Gradascica is nothing special, but it is nice to walk around under big trees. It is a bit far to walk from the old part of town, but might be nice walking along Ljubljanica river and ten some 100 m to this bridge. There is an interesting church near and some pubs, restaurants. Also a theater Prešernovo gledališče might be worth to and check their performances...

Built by the famous architect, is this lovely bridge that crosses a small cal, (also worth a walk along), forming a gate way to the church, definitely worth a look when in the area.

Trnovo Bridge is famous for being the meeting place between Slovenian Julia (Primic) and Slovenian Romeo, the national poet. The church of Trnovo Parish is not so well known [doe's not even have a mark in TripAdvisor search]. Its' second title is St. John the Baptist. Enter! For me the most interesting and exiting things were 1. The Hugh painting at right of the entrance, modern impressive lines, unusual to old churches. And 2. inside, along the walls, a series of a kind of printing on glass, describing the Via Dolorosa.

This bridge is located fairly close to the Plecnik House and leads towards the church there. It looks like a regular traffic bridge. Quiet part of town and a fair walk from the old town. Not really worth the effort to visit just for this.

Built between 1929 and 1932 and designed with respect to the features of the Trnovo Church (Trnovska cerkev) across the way from it. The bridge forms an extension to the church square and the pyramids adorning it imitate the shape of the Church's spires. His house is just a few steps away.

It's close to Jožef Plečnik's museum and the Trnovo church where Slovenian poet Prešeren first met his muse Julija. Simple understated work of the master architect.

At first sight it is just a bridge in the suburbs. When you walk to the place, you can see that it is a small square near the church with some fine details. One is pyramids on each corner and second interesting sculpture of St. John the Baptist in the middle of the balustrade. Plečnik, author of the bridge, added some trees (birch) on each side of the bridge. You can also look at the monuments od Slovenian painters on the southern side of Gradaščica river, just few steps from the bridge. The only problem is local traffic.

This bridge was near our hotel.
It's a nice bridge with a nice church.
But it's not a destination.
If you go to Jože Plečnik's place you'll probably walk over it.
