We visited here during the day to take pictures and at night to have drink. I love this place!!! There's so much to see during the day and some of the graffiti and sculptures are epic. We visited on a Monday night also and it was only the bar that was open but they did cheap beer and it was... More

We went during the day to see the graffiti. It has 2 streets of basic graffiti, not great compared to other cities e.g. Berlin and Melbourne.

Obviously a lot can be said about M'elkova and has. We went through in daylight and early evening and the contrast was already striking. Apparently a party spot that could be something else if it shrugged off the drunk tourists. But if you are young, like to party in faux-sketchy places, and bump into others of your kind, you will... Coming back from a festival held in Slovenia, we've stumbled upon this place on Saturday evening and were blown away, abandoned soviet barracks and rusting children's playground as a place for people to enjoy a drink, listen to punk/rock music from the local bar is as fun as it gets for the younger audience (and the older who can appreciate... The place is definitely not suitable for everybody and I would recommend it mainly to young people with an interest in unordinary art or subsultures.

We visited the area around noon, so it was very quiet. We could enjoy the grafitti and sculptures standing around.

Metelkova is located on the site of former military barracks and was squatted in 1993. It consists of seven buildings and has 12.000 sq metres. The buildings are colourful, asymmetrical, with holes, fascinating, captivating details. There is a bar with a fir grown through its terrace roof (of possibly the roof built around the fir). There were loads of people... More

I loved this space away from the busy city. I went in the evening to view a local movie and it was peaceful yet busy with people chilling out around the bar or in the open spaces around the area. The art work and sculptures are vibrant and dynamic.

very interesting and beautiful place with artistic and underground spirit. We visited it in the morning, so the place was almost empty, but you can find a lots of art work everywhere, so dont worry that the bars are closed, you will enjoy it anyway :)
