About
Ballooning Center Barje was established 26 years ago in Ljubljana. We operate balloons with a capacity of up to 4 or 12 passengers. In our company we only employ highly skilled pilots with more than 4000 hours in flight. They are flight instructors or examiners as well so you will be in safe hands at all times. We mainly operate in two areas, although upon request we can also fly elsewhere in Slovenia. One is area of the capital city of Ljubljana and the other is breathtaking area of lake Bled surrounded by the Alps.

Taking a hot air balloon ride in Europe was on my bucket list, so when I discovered Balonarski Center Barje, I had to book it for my husband and I.
We met them at 7:00 on a Sunday morning, and headed off to the launch site. They gave us safety tips, showed us how to enter/leave the basket safely, and told us when to stay out of the way. Therefore, we felt safe the entire trip as we could tell that safety was a priority for them.
My husband does not normally like heights, but after about 10 minutes, he was able to relax and enjoy the experience knowing that we were in good hands.
We got to watch them blow up the balloons and prepare them for launching. After that, we were off! They launched two balloons that morning, which gave us the opportunity to see the other balloon throughout the trip. We flew for a little over an hour, just watching the magnificent views--we flew right over Bled Castle, and had beautiful views of Lake Bled and vineyards. Our pilot, Filip, told us about the scenes which were passing below us throughout the trip.
After we landed, we were able to help the crew pack up the balloons and then we met the other balloon crew and passengers for a champagne toast and a ceremony in which we were made honorary baron and baroness of the skies! This was an unexpected really nice part of the experience as we got a chance to talk to the pilots and the crew and get to know them a little.
If you have the time and have ever wanted to experience a hot air balloon ride, we cannot think of a better company or a more beautiful place in which to go on a hot air balloon ride! We would highly, highly recommend Balonarski Center Barje! You will not be disappointed!!

Fantastic experience, and an amazing way to see the magical Lake Bled. As someone who is a little nervous of heights and has never ballooned before, I felt absolutely safe and confident the entire time thanks to the experienced team. Lake Bled is truly beautiful and the view from above is even more special- would urge fellow travellers to take the time to fit this into their trip with Grega and his team.

Amazing experience! It was our first time in a hot air balloon, and I think we might be hooked. We completed a trip in October 2021 and think it might be the best way to view Lake Bled and the surrounding region. The views were spectacular, and the pilot and crew were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this if you’re in the area and want a once in a lifetime experience!

It was a wondeful experience. Starting ealry in the morning, preparing the baloon and then fly for around one hour above lake bled. Simply breath-taking. As we say in Germany "Nicht mehr als heiße Luft". But this time it couldnt have been more.
I can higlighy recommend the trip, especially because of the pilots and the crew.

This was the highlight of our trip to Bled. It was magical. The whole journey started very early in the morning and it was interesting to watch the balloon getting ready. Once we climbed in the basket, the magic began! Without even realizing that we started moving, suddenly we were up up and away! Up it is so quiet and peaceful, there's no noise and you don't feel that you are moving at all, it all felt so surreal, and the view...words cannot describe it! Beautiful. Grega is an excellent and experienced pilot, so he made us feel safe and comfortable. The landing was smooth, and the special little ceremony after the flight with a glass of champagne made all this experience so unique and special! Unforgettable!

The entire experience was fabulous. Being in the air floating over lake Bled was the favorite part, but all of it was wonderful, from watching the balloon being inflated with hot air, to the ceremony for flyers at the end. Our guide, Grega, was interesting and informative, both about the balloon and about the views. He made the entire experience extremely special and worth while.

What a really special experience this was. I was picked up before dawn and driven out into the countryside. The whole balloon thing was a first time experience. It was very safe and even the girl who was scared of heights felt quite safe and comfortable. /to sail above the country side was so peaceful and relaxing (except for the firing of the flame to get height of course). I learned that balloons dont have steering. They go up they go down and they go which ever way the wind blows. We scraped the tree tops on decent. Then had a glass of champers to celebrate becoming honorary Barons and Baronesses. Apparently, if you go up in a balloon for scientific purposes you get this honour bestowed on you by charter.

My girlfriend and I went for a winter balloon flight over Bled and loved it. The flight is a beautiful experience plus we had a great time learning about Bled and Slovenia from Grega, our pilot. Zdenka took some amazing photos of us and sent them to our phones straight after the flight. The post flight ceremony and brunch were a great way to finish the whole experience. Would recommend this to anybody traveling to (or living in) Slovenia!

What a truly fabulous experience. The scenery was out of this world. You could see the Julian Alps and Austria in the distance. Lake Bled has to be seen from the air to appreciate the beauty. What was special was the personal touch from Grega, Zdenska, Maja and lovro. Grega is an amazing pilot and you felt totally safe and in awe of his skill. The flight was a trip of a lifetime. Small scale and uncommercialised. Cannot recommend enough ! Thank you so much

What for an amazing experience to fly hot air balloon with balonarski center braje and in an affordable price! They have much experience, you feel very safe and make you dont fear of anything! We had much fun up in the air, as soon as on the ground preparing the balloon and packing it back! You are in all the procedure and thats very interesting. The places we saw over bled...magestic!! Moreover after the flight they make you a ceremony that makes you feel unique baroness of the air! All the team very experienced, funny, and helpful!! Thank you very much hope to fly again with you soon!! Highly recommended!! Cannot go to lake bled and not try it!!From the castle ..island ..lake ..snowy mountains ..to the rivers downthere!
