We contacted George via email, looking for a private day trip for the two of us, to include Lake Bled and the Postojona Caves. George arranged a great trip for us, even including a visit to see Predjama Castle.
We were picked up from our hotel, on time, and in a comfortable car. George is very flexable and will do what ever you want regarding your itinarary and stop times etc. We found George to be very informative and easy to talk to and thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend him to anyone.

Thank goodness for TA pointing us in the direction of Gorazd. He was prompt and helpful in his communications in advance, suggesting sights for our day trip. He arrived on time with a very comfortable car. His driving was safe. His history telling and sight information was great, and he is real tour guide, not just a driver. And we experienced some things we never expected! Sun, rain, hail, thunder, lightning, and floods all in the same day.
Hvala, Gorazd

Gorazd (George) met the four of us at the Ljubljana airport in a rented Peugeot van. Our Slovenia and Croatia trip was a lengthy 16 days. George, who spoke fluent English, drove us from Lake Bled to Ljubljana, Rovinj, Plitvice Lakes (absolutely stunning) Zadar, Split, Hvar and finally to Dubrovnik. Our favorite sites in Slovenia included Castle Bled, Vintgar Gorge, Postojna Cave, and Lipica Stud Farm. In Croatia, we rented boats, one day in Hvar and the other day in Dubrovnik. Since George had a boating license, we did not need to hire a captain. He piloted the boats effortlessly and we all had a marvelous time. The boat allowed us to eat lunch at restaurants on smaller islands, Zori restaurant off Hvar and Villa Ruza off Dubrovnik. For those Game of Thrones enthusiasts, George drove us to several filming locations, in particular Klis Fortress in Split and Trsteno Gardens outside of Dubrovnik.
We highly recommend using George as a private tour guide. He was professional, knowledgeable about both countries' history, economy, and politics, enthusiastic, prompt, and always eager to provide us with fantastic days!

We knew that we wanted to visit Ljubljana and Slovenia – but how to get there and how to get started? Luckily, I found Gorazd (George) of Slovenia Private Tours and all of our tours and transportation were handled.

While planning a trip to Venice, I noticed that Ljubljana and Slovenia are very close to Italy. It was settled – we wanted to visit Slovenia on this trip. But – how to travel to Slovenia? Since train connections from Venice to Slovenia did not meet our approval, I contacted Gorazd (George) and arranged transportation from Trieste, Italy to Ljubljana. George responded to all e-mails in a timely and professional manner. George was waiting for us at the Trieste train station – just as he had promised.

We utilized George’s tour services for five days of touring in Ljubljana and Slovenia. George was prompt, professional, educated, dependable, and friendly. George provided safe and clean transportation – it was great to travel in the eco-friendly Prius. During our five days of touring, George was always punctual and made each day/tour very enjoyable. Also, George made excellent restaurant recommendations during our tours - we had delicious lunches and snacks each day. Slovenia is a beautiful country.

As someone who has hired private guides in other countries, I was very pleased with George’s (Slovenia Private Tours) services. If I traveled to Slovenia again, I would hire him immediately. I would highly recommend this guide. I gave George a TripAdvisor "Excellent Service" pin - he deserved it.

My wife and I hired George for 3 days and can highly recommend him. He is very professional and knows Slovenia and Croatia intimately. He immediately started driving to meet us at our boat in Pula when we were told we would arrive much earlier and was waiting outside for us. Riding in a van was a nice touch. He drove us anywhere we asked but also had good ideas like taking us to Motovun for photos but a less crowded town with no bus up. I learned about him here and am glad I did.

We travelled over most of Slovenia with George and he also took us into Croatia – to Istria and to the Plitvice Lakes,

A private tour with George is a great way not only to see this country but to find out about its history and geography. He has an excellent knowledge of the highways and byways and always seems to know the best way to see a place as well as to find an interesting way to it.

A bonus is that George is an excellent driver and manages to manoeuvre his comfortable vehicle through, and into, some impossibly tiny spaces. We had some great conversations and learned so much from our time with Slovenia Private Tours. I cannot think of a better way to travel around this beautiful and varied country.

I should add that planning this trip was also made easy because George replied very quickly to all suggestions and enquiries. But once we actually met, he showed great flexibility in fine-tuning the itinerary to meet our needs and also to accommodate changes in the weather which was fickle and uncertain at times. But in most places the sun shone as requested!

Thank you George for your company and for taking us ‘off the beaten track’ along the back roads of Slovenia and Croatia, as well as making sure we did not miss highlights like Bled and the Postojna caves or those special places like the Carthusian monastery in Eastern Slovenia and the amazing Soca River valley. I hope you continue to enjoy showing people around your country.

Thank you indeed for travelling with me and your very kind attitude! It was my privilege to show you around most of Slovenia and some of Croatia. I'm glad you decided to also see Trieste Italy, Croatian Istria, Plitvice and Zagreb. The weather surely didn't stop us to accomplish a very diverse itinerary. Enjoyed your company a lot, greetings from Slovenia again!

We ( my husband and I) just returned from a 15 day trip to Slovenia and Croatia with Gorazd (George) from Slovenia Private Tours . I found George after reading all the positive and good reviews from Tripadvisor and have been in contact with him since January to plan and customize our Slovenia + Croatia trip. George is a very knowledgeable guide, always prompt and an excellent driver. He is very flexible and friendly with good sense of humor and would go the extra mile. Both my husband and I loved seafood. One day, we passed by an Oyster Stand near Ston and tasted the most delicious oyster we have on the trip. When we drove back from Dubrovnik to Zagreb, George tried to make a last stop for us so we could have oyster one more time before we left but unfortunately, the stand didn’t open that day. For all the places we visited along the way , George would tell us history about them and made suggestions to ensure we visited all the “must see” attractions. He is very fluent in English and could speak the local languages we visited (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro) which is a big plus to us since we don’t know the languages and might have trouble to find the hotels/Airbnb we booked for the trip. Other than being an excellent tour guided, George is also a licensed skipper and could sail you along the Adriatic Coast. He loves sailing and has sound knowledge about the islands in the Adriatic Sea. He enjoyed telling us about his previous tours along the Adriatic Sea . We loved Lake Bled, Vintgar Gorge, the National Parks we visited and hikes we did. Slovenia and Croatia are truly beautiful. We would love to come back to visit these places again and will use George service without hesitation.

Engaged George's service in Oct'14 for 3 days, covering most of Slovenia's major tourist attractions outside Ljubljana. George promptly replied my emails & offered good suggestions for my itinerary planning. He speaks good English, always punctual, and go the extra mile with his service. It was also interesting to travel with his eco-friendly Prius. He also recommended nice lunch/snack venues for us to experience authentic Slovene cuisine.
I appreciated his effort to drive us to Trieste for a glimpse of the Italian city. It's not in my itinerary and he extended the tour for a few hours without extra charge.
It's a pity I did not use his service to visit Croatia.

Context:
We were traveling to Slovenia. The original plan was for me to rent a car and drive around. But Slovenia requires international permit, and mine expired already, with no time to make a new one. We pivoted then to find a private guide to show us around, and we found George through Google search and Tripadvisor.

Actual tour:
We spent 2 days w George. Day 1 he took us to Lake Bled, Bled Castle, Bled Island, and Lake Bohinj. As a bonus, he drove us all around Slovenian country side. Day 2 we went to Postojna Cave, Predjama castle, and Piran.

Along the way, George shared all his knowledge about Slovenia, information about the areas we were passing through, his life experiences being a guide in Slovenia etc. George is punctual, dependable, very easy to communicate and get along, and generally very pleasant to hang out and explore the country with.

Our meeting him is a blessing in disguise because we would not be able to see as much Slovenia as we did, had we explore the country on our own.

Summary:
We could not recommend George enough. If anyone is going to Slovenia, and in need of a private guide - contact George. He represents his country extremely well, and he is doing a job that he loves, and his passion shows through his enthusiasm.

We had a great driver (Janez Hostnik) who took us to Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge etc for a full (very full) day and also to Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle for another half day. Our full day was beautiful - the walk through the gorge and then the lake were really beautiful - we had a nice lunch at a lakeside restaurant before we went to the island and finished off with Lake Bohinj and the cable car to the top of the mountain for the best view. We were undecided about Postojna caves but so glad we went - Janez had told us it was worth seeing. Absolutely spectacular. Our day was topped off by a visit to a bakery in a small town that had the best cakes. Ljubljana is beautiful but a good guide who is obviously proud of his country makes it all the better.
