Having heard so much about Plecnik and seen so much of his designs in the town we decided to visit his house. Visits are guided tours only but we were lucky there was just the two of us. The house is not very big but the guide was very informative and you get a real insight into the man behind... More

Very nice tour with knowledgable guide, we were only four visitors during our tour so it was intimate. Wish you were allowed to see more of the house though. Really think you should visit!

Joze Plecnik is the architect of many many buildings and bridges in Ljubljana. While visiting the city center you probably came across several of them such as the National and University Library, the Triple Bridge or the Colonnades next to the Central Market. If you liked those and want to know more about Plecnik, who shaped the architecture of this... More

Of all the museums in Ljubljana, this and the Contemporary History Museum are the best. Plečnik is fascinating... I've never seen another city so influenced by one architect. The house is unusual in that it's so spartan and reflects his focus and work ethic. I've toured it twice (guided tours offered on the hour, 6 euros per person), and both... More

Slovenian professors on the Faculty of architecture in Ljubljana has always said - we have three greatest architects of all time: Plečnik, Plečnik and Plečnik. :) His work was so advanced, but on the other hand he stem from Greek classics. In this museum you will discovered his work, personal life, religion and also interesting stories from his everyday life.... More

Just opened museum and a house of Joze Plecnik, the architect. Very interesting, especially his home house full of small details. They were trying to restore it as it was in the past. Good work!

Plečnik was a genious, a loner, a weirdo, a hermit, a nerd a 100 years before the Word was even invented. His work speaks volumes and stands for itself, Ljubljana, Trieste, Prague, Belgrade and Wienna each have share some of his "blessings." But this place is where the guy lived and worked. A minimalistic jet intense and very interesting place.... More

Place for individuals and not for groups. It is good idea to reserve in advance. New part of the museum is for study and for the introduction. Better part of the visit is walk to the kitchen, bedroom, studio, winter garden. They preserved all, really old thing, from a small pencil to models and busts of Plečnik. Take your time... More

The house is now open for tours every hour on the hour. The groups are small, and the tour guide, excellent. It is a beautiful house, not very big, but feels like a real home. I liked the connection between the house and the garden. It looked very comfortable. I thought it was plecnik's greatest work. It's an easy walk... More

Today we tried to visit the house after we came in vain on monday, when the house is closed. Although there have been 3 or four stuff persons, we've been refused as only guided tours are possible and there have already been about 5 tourists. Never mind, but the hostile art of refusal is inacceptable! No discussion, next tour in... More
