If it's sunny in Ljubljana, a visit to Tivoli is a must: perfect for running, a walk with kids or a coffee by the pond

Most traditional central park in the hart of Ljubljana, always full of pedestrians and their four-legged friends. Green environment and fresh air are the main characteristic of this park which was established between both world wars. There are also a lot of sports content in...More

this is the only park you can see in Ljubljana. Only a big one. There is a nice hill Rožnik to see and over there is a zoo.

Very relaxing walk around this vast green space. Be sure to venture further than the main body of the park - there are lots of walking trails just off the main area

A beautiful park just outside Ljubljana, amazingly well kept lawns, clean, tidy, open, art on the main walkway, 10 mins walk from the old town centre, stunning.

I was on foot, but I noticed they had traffic gates, so I'm guessing there might be modest parking fees, at least in the main lot

Tivoli Park (3 Replies)
Hi I’m going to Copenhagen in Aug & plan to see & do the usual things plus trip to Malmo We are finding Tivoli Park website very confusing- please can someone explain what it is in English? Are the rides on par with Alton towers or is it just a small basic fairground? The gardens - again what is this like? Formal garden with trees & flowers? We are trying to decide whether we go or not Thanks

Hi, I've never been to Alton Towers (and never heard of it), but Tivoli is much more than a basic fairground. According to Trip Advisor Travelers' Choice 2017 Tivoli Gardens is the 3rd best amusement park in Europe. Tivoli Gardens is a relatively small place, as it's located very centrally in Copenhagen, but there's plenty of things to do there. It's the second oldest operating park of its kind in the world - it's not run down, it's well maintained; it just means that you see a nice mix...More

"Landscapes of Serbia" photo exhibition in Tivoli Park (1 Reply)
How do you spend a rainy Monday in Ljubljana when many of the museums are closed? I decided to wander over to Tivoli Park in the rain, and I was pleased to stumble upon the huge "Landscapes of Serbia" photo exhibition in the park by photographer Dragoljub Zamurovic. There are about 100 huge photos outside in the park itself, by one of the museums as you enter the park. They are amazing photos - beautiful scenes of Serbia. What a nice surprise to find a photography exhibit in a public park!...More

Yes, that promenade from the railway underpass at the Modern Gallery to the Tivoli Castle always has some nice photo exhibition.

Ride a bike through the Tivoli park and to the castle? (2 Replies)
Considering a ride from Rijeka (Croatia) to Postojna and possibly Ljubljana. If I can even make it that far I will only have the time to ride to the castle and through Tivoli park. Would just like to check whether bikes are allowed in both places? And are there some must-see spots near by?

Bikes are allowed in Tivoli. You can also use the road to the castle.
