Prešeren square is not only the center of Ljubljana, but is our meeting point with friends. It is in pedestrian zone near Ljubljanica river and Three bridges. There is a bronze statue of our greatest poet France prešeren with his love Julija. His poem "A Toast", became our national anthem.

Some of you may have heard about one's of this country's great cultural treasures: France Preseren, a "drunken" poet who was known to have shared sweets with local children. Like The Irish, this small nation loves its poets and artists, in many ways a great deal more than their political leaders of now or the past. This is also a... More

Prešeren Square is beautiful and filled with people either on a sunny day in May or a cold day in December. It offers a wonderful view of the castle and many great cafes and restaurants are in vicinity.

The rest of the square has a lovely upscale department store with an interesting double staircase inside as well as several other interesting local stores.

It is in front of one of the city gates leading to medieval Ljubljana. The main point of interest is monument of Slovenian greatest poet dr. France Prešeren with muse of poetry holding a spring of laurel above his... More

This square is really lovely, and contains the pink church and Triple Bridge, which are main attractions in Ljubljana. What was nice was that it wasn't too busy. Maybe this is because Slovenia is still a hidden gem in Europe (although not for long I'm sure!).

Preseren square is a square closed for the transportation, so you can enjoy walking there. There a lot of restaurants, bars and cafes around.

This was a nice place to walk around and get a true feel of the city. I highly recommend to see this place at night to see the holiday lights and enjoy the market.

We're come in Ljubljana in december, when the city is decorated and sparkiling for New Years night. Very nice center with a lot of people all over the world. Nice coffee shops, bars, restaurants and street shops with hot wine etc. Interesting and cool city.
