Excellent views of this great city to be had from the tower in the Castle but I thought the castle itself lacked charm or that little bit of roughness that other similar aged castles would have - its almost as if the restorers went that...More

As castles go, this is nothing very special. However, we found the museum presenting the history of Slovenia very interesting and exceptionally well presented.

A fantastic view from the tower in order to get your bearing and photos of the old town. Go on a clear day and enjoy the walk up; well worth the effort. Cafe, Restaurant and Gallery exhibitions also at the top.

The castle is not very authentic, but rather a modern building on top of a ruin. The panoramic view over the city makes it a must see attraction! You can also watch a 3-D-video which tells you more about the historical construction of the city....More
