Been there a couple of times, since I live nearby and its a very peaceful and calm place to go to. You can simply go for a walk, run, watch birds etc. Don't expect too much though, the water isn't very clear. But the view is still great.

There are many walking routes around or by the lake. In summer you can rent a boat or a pedalino, the "brave" ones can swim, you can go fishing and in winter you can ice skate. There are a couple of caffes by the lake, a "boat house" where you can eat, the nature is beautiful and quiet.

The lake and its surroundings offer plenty of starting points for a walk or hike with places to rest, eat and refresh. You can rent pedal-boats and in some bays even take a dip. It is not the nature experience you can expect from Slovenia but very suitable for families with kids. And be prepared that it can be crowded.

I often go for a walk here. Although this lake is artificial, it's still worth visiting it. If you're lucky enough, you might even encounter ducks (even in the winter). :)

Really close to city center, accessible with car, public transport, bike, even walking. Great nice lake, with walking trails around. Also with floating bridge and tables around for more information. Some bars on each side, but no restaurants, sadly. One can borrow a sup. Swimming possible in the summer. Fishing possible, but with payment.
