Love the lake! So beautiful and peaceful in comparison to the equally beautiful Bled. However, on our return back to the car we found a parking ticket. Unfortunately, there were no signs or warnings to say not to park there otherwise we would have respected...More

We spent a few hours at the lake swimming and paddleboarding. Prices not too bad. Much better than swimming in a pool. This lake is much nicer than bled but advise getting there in the morning to get parked.

If you want a busy hub of a lake - go to Bled. If you want a lake with mountains and quiet - go to Bohinj during the week. There are quieter sections away from the road side of the lake. The water is divine.

Lake Bohinj is a natural pearl with clean water. We went for a swim and it was great. It can be a little overcrowded during weekends, so it is best to choose mon-fri, early hours to avoid traffic congestion. There is also enough parking places...More

Slovenia was quite green when we visited last September. I suspect October would be a better time to catch the leaves changing colour.
