We rented a boat on a nice July afternoon (15 euro per hour + 8 euro per additional hour), and paddled to Bled island. It takes about 1/2 hour to get there. Not much to see on the island except from the nice church on top of the small hill. You can buy tickets and go up the bell tower... More

We took a pletna boat from the furthest point at €14 each. (These boats tend to go only once they are full) After a lovely relaxing row to the island we had about 40 minutes to look around. I only expected a church where you can ring the bell. In fact we didn't go in. Instead we looked round the... More

There is really nothing to do on island but to walk it around. And that was really exciting since close to lake shore a lot of interesting species are observable. Especially catfishes. We saw one that's length was about 1,5 meters. Church is a rip-off, don't go there.

A nice place to visit, there is a nice simple church on the island, and a few shops. Nothing special compared to the already beautiful lake area.

A small island in the middle of Lake Bled, a church in the middle of island... A lot of "pletna"s or motor-boats carrying tourists to and from... According to written sources, there was a masonry church on the island in 1142. In the 15th century, it was rebuilt in the Gothic style with a freestanding bell tower and main altar...... More

Hire a rowing boat and row over there €12. You get a padlock to lock your boat up and then you can go and explore the little island. There is a beautiful church but not sure if it is free or not. Rowing the boat there was the best bit, I would suggest 2hr hire of boat if you want... More

Very nice attraction to take photos of, but that's about it. Nothing to do there other than say you've been to Slovenia's only island.

I toured Europe for two weeks and I ate a lot of gelato (granted I never made it to Italy, but still, a lot of gelato) and the Bled Island gelato was by far the most delicious thing I have ever put in my mouth. We kayaked out to the island on a gorgeous day, so it was a great... More

This island is reached by local boatmen, depending on which point you get on the boat varies the cost. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the island where you are given 40 minutes to look round which is plenty. The boatmen then return you to your point of origin. Very pleasant.
