A real gem, beautiful...

A lovely stroll around the lake takes about 1hr 15mins over well kept paths, a small part is along the side of a road.

We bought the tickets to the entrance for the island church from the bus station at Ljubljana which include a piece of cake and a drink at the cafe. The boat ride to the island cost another Eu14 per persons. The boatman gives us 45 minutes to visit the island. You cannot enjoy the scenery with your cake and drink... More

I loved the place however on the weekend can get a bit touristy (difficult to find a parking spot), there are quite a few people walking around the lake. However the scenery is really breathtaking!

Do have someone row you over to Bled island. The church is quite a climb up, but well worth it. Also take a horse and carriage ride to the Castle - you'll still have a stiff walk up to the castle itself when you get there.

If you can, go and walk around the whole lake, which shouldn't take more than 2 hours at an average pace, You'll find lots of popular, and lots of hidden places to go for a dip and chill. rowing is popular but take a good look around as some do charge significantly more than others.

Lake Bled itself is calm, clear and clean for fun water activities like boating, swimming and just sitting on the banks to soak in the sun and surrounding beauty. The leisurely and easy walk around the lake takes about an hour to and hour and a half with so many spots to stop for the perfect picture. The town of... More

It understand why Tito put his summer villa here. The area has restricted new building which explains why there aren't condos lining the lake. There is a nice walking path that circumnavigates the lake and is about 3.5 miles long. There are plenty of places to sit. Many people stop at the grocery store near the boat dock to make... More

Lake Bled is a lovely, picturesque small lake with a small island at the one end. The beautiful Church of the Assumption is located on the island. To get to it, you must hire a pletna, Slovenia's version of a gondola. you can find one at 5 different places around the lake. Above the lake is Bled Castle where you... More

My husband and I visited Bled this September - a quaint little town with a beautiful lake. The Pletna boat costs £14pp (return) and the whole trip to the Bled Island and back takes 1h 40 mins (1hr on a boat and 40 mins free time at the Island - more than enough). Highly recommend the little local food market... More
