Nice forested trail up to an overlook boasting a beaut view of Lake Bled. Some parts can be slippery (like the worn rocks toward the top), so best to wear hikers or trainers (and not some kind of sandal).

Tip: If you don't mind waiting for Insta-Selfie Nation to take 487 photos of, obviously, themselves, before you slip in and take just a few of the beautiful lake itself, go whenever you want. If, however, you'd rather avoid this, go earlier in the day (at least during the busy summer months).

Second tip: Also go early if you want to (more easily) get a parking spot near the trailhead. There's some street parking available, and some paid parking, but on weekends in the summer, both of these options can fill up fast.

Take your time up this steep, rocky trail, with the reward being the best views of Lake Bled from a rocky outcrop. There is a steel cable the last 50’ or so, so hang on and be cautious with your footing. Spend some time and watch as the cloud shadows affect the colors of the lake. Bring some food and enjoy a picnic. Take your time going down, the rocks are slippery. Well marked by the campground.

As simple as it is. You walk up in like 20-25 minutes (no special preparations needed, just avoid slippers), you look down to the lake and you don't believe it is not a painting. Amazing view.
You definitely will meet some other nice people up there, you will take pictures for each other, breath some fresh air, then bring down some zen feeling with you.
Try to go realtively early in the morning (let's say before 10), so it's not as busy yet.

This is a must visit place in Bled. The entrance to the trail has only a small sign but you should see enough people heading up. It’s an uphill trip and it gets steeper as you go higher. And there is a steep section with lots of loose small rocks. You need good shoes to walk through. And the last section is like climbing the rock stairs. You will be rewarded with spectacular view at the top. The island in the lake appears in front of you. You also see Bled castle and Julian alps in the back. Breath taking view. Although the hike was not easy, I saw small kids on the trail too. Definitely family friendly hike.

Fantastic view. It's quite an uphill trip to get there, but well worth it. Wear study shoes. A guide we had for another activity told us that a number of people each summer need assistance due to injury after attempting to climb in casual sandals/flip flops. This is a hike up rocky terrain, be prepared.

As non-hikers, we found the hike up to be quite strenuous. I was huffing and puffing all the way up but it was well worth the effort. The view of Lake Bed is stunning!! It's a picture perfect post card view for anybody who looking for great photos to post or send to their friends. You won't be disappointed!

If you're not sure where this hike begins then enter these co-ordinates into Google Maps - 46°21'33.3"N 14°05'05.3"E .

This hike is not to be confused with Mala Osojnica which is a more challenging hike to a higher viewpoint. Both hikes start from those co-ordinates, there is a sign to point you in the right direction for both.

For this particular hike you will spend about 15 minutes walking up what feels like a dry river bed, footing can be difficult at times as you need to step over and onto large rocks and stones, it's fairly straight forward though if you take your time. It's also pretty steep in places so you need to be fairly fit. The last 5-6 minutes are walking up the rocky mountainside as you turn off the main trail, this is a bit harder but if you're in moderate health and of average fitness it won't be a problem for you.

Once at the top you will get the postcard view of lake Bled with the castle and mountains nicely in shot. There is a bench so you can relax whilst watching the view. In March the trail was very quiet and I only saw another 2 groups but I'd imagine in the summer there will be a lot more people around.

The trail is free and there is no charge to enter.

This is a relatively short hiking trail. I would suggest doing a loop that starts at the west-mos point of the lake and encompasses three peaks: Ojstrica, Velika Osojnica and Mala Osojnica. The trail is not always well marked and can get muddy at places, but it is marked on the Google Maps, so with a smartphone and a few helpful locals, most of whom speak better English than an average resident of London or Toronto, you'll be fine.
For people arriving from afar to hike the Alps, on your day of arrival, hike around the lake, including taking this trail along your way to beat the jet lag and prepare yourself to a more serious hike the next day and escape the rather hectic town of Bled.

What a viewpoint!

We braved this trail to the top to see the view point and we were not disappointed. People passed us in flip flops but after the rain we struggled in trainers as it was fairly slippy and is without doubt a hike or climb so be warned.

I would also advise taking a bottle of water with you and wet wipes as you use your hands as much as your legs to climb up.

We have seen pictures of brides and grooms at the top and we have no idea how they got up there without getting dirty!

Everyone who goes to bled should go here to just take a moment and breath in the beauty and be thankful for travelling!

This is the first stop on a longer hike. If you're not a confident walker or are short of time, take this hike up to the viewpoint. The trail start is easy to find. Park at Camping Bled and with your back to the lake, head to the left of the grassy area. Follow the wide track up and eventually there is a sign to turn off to the right. Follow the steep path up and enjoy the view. If you're feeling fit, continue up to Mala Osojnica for an even more stunning view. Otherwise, return the same way you went up.
Recommended.
