If you are interested in learning about bees and discovering if you have what it takes to be a beekeeper, Blaž and Danijela of Čebelarstvo Ambrožič - Kralov, will help you in this discovery. Blaž is an excellent teacher and guide, explaining while at the same time allowing for exploration and discovery. Danijela provides tremendous insight into apitourism and shares their story of success. Čebelarstvo Ambrožič is a family owned operation and it shows in the authenticity. Their love of bees and passion for educating the world about them is revealed in everything they do. If you are looking for a place to spend an hour or more learning about bees, this is truly the place to come. And, stop by their shop and pick up some honey or a hand-crafted bee panel designed by Danijela.

This turned out to be way more enjoyable than we initially anticipated. We thought it would be something different to try for an afternoon, but we are so glad we went. Danijela is knowledgeable, passionate, and funny. Our family (2 teens) was truly engaged the entire time we were learning about bees, and Danijela answered every question, no matter what was asked (or if it had already been answered). I never knew there was so much I didn't know about bees! At the end we tried some honey and the kids made a candle. As we were leaving, we were all in agreement that we were so glad we chose this over our other option for the afternoon because we would have really missed out on a great experience. It may not be on your Bled bucket list when you start planning, but we definitely recommend it!

Blaz is a passionate beekeeper who is very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We learned an incredible amount of information on bees in a short amount of time and enjoyed the hands-on approach to learning in a beautiful setting. I would highly suggest anyone visiting the Bled region to seek out Kralov Med. Communication prior to the tour wasn't the best, but it all turned out well anyway.

My wife and took a tour of the apiary with Danijela. It was one of the best tours I have taken in a long time and was a highlight of our tip to Lake Bled.

I’m pretty familiar with bees but I learned a great deal on this tour. Danijela was a great guide - both informative and funny. We were also able to buy some very, high quality products at the end of the tour. The tour lasted for a little over an hour and is highly recommended.

We had the BEST time here! We learned so much about bees and how essential they are to our survival. It wasn’t some tourist trap- this is family owned, family loved, and family celebrated. Probably my favorite thing that we did on our honeymoon. Thank you endlessly!

Me and my husband were on our honeymoon early October and thought it would be interesting to find out more about the honey history of Slovenia. We looked on the Kralov med website and sent a message through the contact us button. A lovely lady called Danielja messaged back on the same day offering us a demonstration the next day. We walked from bled centre which took around 30mins, lovely walk, to a town called Selo. Surrounded by beautiful farm land. We were at the bee hives for around 1.5 hours finding out lots more about the history and also about bees and honey in general. You get to see the bees working in an up close manner. Incredible! If you have a spare couple of hours while visiting Bled I would more than suggest this. Also there is the opportunity to taste and buy some delicious honey... (Much better than what's in the shops and a better price) perfect present to take home. The demonstration was only €4 per person and she was happy to do it for just the two of us which I thought was lovely! I assume it's a bit busier in the summer months.

We emailed Danijela about arranging a private tour for three of us and she replied suggesting a choice of two timings. Closer to the date, we let her know about the time of our arrival. As we stayed at Garni Hotel Berc, we walked through the residential area and country road to reach this place in the village of Selo in about 25 mins.
Before we went on the tour (6 euros each), we wore a hat with protective netting. Danijela is a warm person and she explained to us the intricacies about bee keeping. She also encouraged us to try the Bee therapy by lying on a bed. She readily answered our questions.

Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities. Pollinators allow many plants, including many food crops, to reproduce and they are key to conserving biodiversity - a cornerstone of the Sustainable Development Goals.

To raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, the UN designated 20 May as World Bee Day. This date was chosen as it coincides with the birthday of Anton Janša, who in the 18th century pioneered modern beekeeping techniques in his native Slovenia and praised the bees for their ability to work so hard, while needing so little attention.

We also visited the gift shop and learnt what good honey is like. We also tasted some samples. After my trip to Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, I felt that her prices are reasonable and the small bottles of honey are good gifts for families and friends back home. We walked back by another way passing a working farm where we saw brown cows and lovely houses with beautiful flowers in their gardens. Soon we arrived at Lake Bled and this walk was pleasant and scenic. Strongly recommend a walk there to visit an important industry and learnt much about the importance of bee.

This was a short, informative and lots of fun educational tour. Kids and adults alike will be fascinated with the bees and the honey products are fun to taste. You also get an experience to lay down in a bunk bed and watch the bees close up and personal.

I would recommend the walk to Selo, but first call the owners and announce your visit. It is necessary because they have the farm and they are busy all the time. Once you reach the address where they have their own honey you will learn a lot about the use of the honey. I understood they organize the presentations for the groups, with the prior announcement of course, but if you are looking for specific kind of honey they will help you find it and give the explanation.
