We drove from Bovec up to the Mangart Saddle for a day of Via Ferrata and scrambling. All the routes are open to the public, and unless you are with a club or guide who is sorting you out, you NEED your own gear.

For our visit (10 days ago) rain and storms were forecast for 5 of the 7 days... There were storms in the evening most days, lasting around half an hour each, but every day was bone dry. I don't know where to find the most accurate forecast for the area. The routes we saw were pretty clear, but we didn't hike across the centre of the park
