I have been to many lakes but this is my favourite! if you are looking for a place surrounded by beautiful nature, trout swimming in the clear water at your feet. Wonderful hiking, swimming , kayaking, fishing or just relaxing at the water edge with a picnic then you must visit this beautiful spot.

Amazing picturesque lake. Must see! More natural and less touristic than lake Bled. The fall colors are hypnotizing and it is recommended to stop the car and approach the water. Also don't miss the view of the lake from mount Vogel.

Well worth the visit if you are in Slovenia, not as built up as Lake Bled, it is more like a back to nature place. We hiked the length of the north shore took about 90 mins. Was mostly fairly easy but was a few places you might struggle if you are not reasonably fit. there were boat trips from... More

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited! It's far less touristy and far more peaceful than bled lake! The views are absolutely beautiful! Amazing for a walk or a cycle around! Swimming and kayaking is also possible there but it was a bit too chilly for us to do that in September. Either way, I... More

I'd heard good things about Lake Bohinj, many friends had in fact suggested skipping Bled altogether and heading straight here. After spending a day in and around the lake I can see why. So much more quiet and undeveloped in comparison to Bled, with stunning scenery from every angle. The walk around the whole lake may take 3-4 hours at... More

Much more my style than Bled, not as touristy. Would love to come skiing here! Steep mountains dropping down to the lake, very picturesque. Felt very quiet in mid-October but the campsites were open and we spent a fab night right next to the lake at Ukanc. Riding the car train to or from here really is a must...very unique... More

We stayed at Hotel Jezero for 2 nights. The area is quiet and peaceful with beautiful nature scenery. We awoke in the morning to a nice fog over the lake which was breathtaking. Plenty of hiking in the area.

This is a great place to hike and enjoy the beautiful countryside. There are paths around certain areas of the lake and a few shops and a church to visit.

I went for a hike on a trail that started higher up on a mountain a descended along a gorge to connect to the trail that goes around Lake Bohinj. The trail isn't difficult but offers many views of the water and access to small, pebbly beaches. The water was refreshing and a nice temperature in September.
