Gorgeous scenery and much quieter (ok, and a bit colder!) than Lake Bled. We hired a canoe from the Youth Hostel (although we didn't stay there) and it was a beautiful way of exploring the Lake.

Amazing place not so far from ljubjana, simple to reach by car. On this lake could be rent some kayak to have a wonderful experience. The water is clean and the view from the lake is stunning, it must be visited!

I have not seen anything like it.. Beautiful and serene. One can walk for hours around the lake or just sit at a bench and stare or even have a swim. I did all 3 and forgot all the stress which one carries in them. They have a few places to eat and i would suggest the one which is... More

Although Lake Bled is usually the popular destination, I thoroughly recommend you don't miss a visit to Lake Bohinj. It's only about 40 min drive from Lake Bled and you would be rewarded with a much better scenery and less crowds. Lake Bohinj, covering 318 hectares (790 acres), is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. It is located within the... More

Firstly, this is a lot less touristy than Lake Bled, so is much quieter and has fewer facilities like cafes and toilets etc. However, this actually works in its favour. I was staying at the Hotel Jezero in a room which had a balcony overlooking the lake, and it is absolutely beautiful. It was a joy to get up early... More

Larger than nearby Bled it offers more beach spots and is generally less crowded. I prefer Bled for the castle and island though.

The lake is truly beautiful, as well as the surrounding hills and slopes. Try some of the closest hiking paths, the lift to Vogel viewing station or some of the boats through the lake. A great combination with the Bled lake.

It's great place, beautiful nature and very relaxing. The best thing is that you can borrow a boat and go on the lake, where you can enjoy the nature or swimm in the lake. The only downside is the expensive parking.

We visited Lake Bohinj to spend a nice sunday. Landscape is spectacular and lake surroundings having lots of options to be active. You can walk around the lake, swim in it, kayak, sup or just spend the day at the lake beach (playing volleyball, sunbathing...). Something for every family member. It does get crowded on sunny days but is spatious... More
