A must do to get a greater understanding of this fascinating neighbourhood. Great value as if you visit the museum of Warsaw in the old town entrance to this museum is included if visited within 7 days (20 zlty). The staff were very passionate, welcoming and friendly which only added to the experience and were keen for me to see everything. Don't miss the panoramic view of Praga at the end. To learn more about the residents and the area during WWII and communism was very interesting.

This is a lovely museum, with friendly and helpful staff. As its name and location suggest, this is a museum about Praga - a place with its own identity, yet part of Warsaw. Easy to get to at the eastern end of the new metro, line M2. Exit the metro and go south, keeping to the eastern side of the road. It's an easy five minute walk.
Have a look at the time line and the drawings and photos related to the time in question. There is also a model of Praga, showing the layout in the 17th century.
Do go through the brick vaulted bowels and listen to the recorded anecdotes. I particularly liked the one about the herring, but all the ones I heard were of interest.
It is not a crowded museum, as it is off the tourist trail. Well worth a visit if you have done the top 10 attractions

We booked a walking tour through the museum and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. We enjoyed the sensations and impressions of the Russian market and Brzeska street neighborhood and the interesting tales of the guide. Well recommended.

This was a real surprise - a new museum which had put a lot of thought into telling the story of the district. The main map room crammed with pictures is just for starters. There are two floors above plus a huge basement. It's in English with an audio guide (take it - the oral history room is superb) and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

I had a chance to visit the museum shortly after their opening. I know the district quite well but I wanted to show friend of mine how 'truly' prewar Warsaw looked like.
The visit was such a pleasant surprise! The museum is so diverse, each exhibition has main theme, varying from 'people of Praga' to history, spatial development and religion in Praga. They have covered it all.
The museum is not so big so 1 or 2 hours should be enough to learn about this truly interesting part of Warsaw. Museum is brand new and quite modern, combining different forms of installations.
And for price of the ticket (which was 1 zl :) we got some cream rolls (yum!).
Definitely worth coming if you are on the right side of the city.

Praga is a popular neighborhood that visitors have evaded for decades as it had a bad reputation.this bad reputation was based on literature as well on the population of the place.this was obviously totally unfair.
this museum with the tiny eating place puts the record straight at last.
well worth a visit
