I don't know what the course was like five years ago, and frankly, I don't care. My expat wife and I played it today and it was in very good condition and we had a fun round. After heavy rains, the greens were a bit slow, but they were true, the fairways and bunkers played as they should, and the layout - though occasionally a bit odd - was always entertaining. It's not an inexpensive course, but as the only 'real' course within easy driving distance from Warsaw, it's well worth the money.

Well, as the First Warsaw Golf & CC is the only 18-hole golf course in/near Warsaw city, you have no choice but to say that it’s great place to play golf. But, there is big but. The club house as well as the golf course, are not in good shape. There are many better golf courses in Central Europe. But, in case you have friends there, nothing can stop you from having nice time with friends there.

The course has many challenging and fun holes with very different profiles. In fact we ended up changing our plans and only played at this course during our whole Warsaw golf vacation :-)
The restaurant was under construction as part of their grand project to bild a large hotel by the course but the friendly staff more than made up for that. With a beer in the sun overlooking the 18th hole and smelling the ribeye and burgers on the barbeque, we had some awesome moments here.

There are 3 courses within 1 hour drive of Warsaw, this is the oldest and should be the best but is the worst. The course, itself, is not the problem so much, although I am less impressed every time I go there. The practice facilities are dismal. The restaurant is lousy service and the the girls who ring you up all look like they belong in the night club, The whole experience off the course is poor. Let’s not get into the various legal problems that have created a nightmare situation for golfers who don’t know if they will be greeted by armed guards or not. The course itself could be great, but the greens are poor and the layout is also not great (9th hole for example ends far from the “clubhouse” (actually just a big tent). Bunkers are average and overall maintenance is average to below. If visiting Warsaw, value for money is at Lisia Polana, people are so nice and normal and restaurant is award winning. Sobienie also has financial issues AND too much traffic on it now as people play there constantly to stay away from First Warsaw and Lisia is farther away. Overall maintainence at Sobienie is also very poor, facilities have run down significantly. Golf in Poland is better played in other places like Krakow where you can also access close by Slovakian courses as well.

First nine very nice but neglected. tragic bunkers and tragic condition of the greens. Second nine beautiful, park-like landscape. Worst clubhouse and staff I have ever seen. i think the owner of the course was walking around drunk and yelling at the staff. the girls at the front desk were dressed like they were in a nightclub they didn't even know the price in the store. in the restaurant I waited 10 min, there was no service

... then I am not sure where else you play. At best it is ok. Lay out is nice, bunkers are good, fairways are ok and the green were terrible. Might be partially due to the hot weather, so I assume normally is in in better condition, but for me, not more than average. Clubhouse ok, nice pro shop too average practice area.

Whilst on a business trip we took some time at the weekend to go play golf. This is a beautiful golf course where no two holes are the same. Every hole offers a different challenge. Great fun to play.
Really nice people at the club. If you're every around here is recommend a round if you can fit it in. Big thumbs up.

This is a beautifully located championship golf course with plenty of water. After last year investments (mostly into irrigation system) it was made even better. It features well-maintained fairways and fast greens. Front 9 has a more open layout with fewer trees, elevated greens and challenging fairways. Back 9 is more like a parkland course.
The tee shot on the first hole might be a bit of scary. Also, an approach to island green on 18th can be intimidating.
For beginners and those short on time, there is a very nice pitch and putt 9 holes Executive course.
Overall: highly recommended.

This course has come so far in the last 5 years, it's always been a challenging course, but since the recent investment and development particularly in the bunkers, it's now a championship course.
