We spent 2 days touring with Ula.
During that time she was not only a competent and knowledgeable guide, a confident and careful driver but displayed a warm and empathic personality. She was able to impart information in a logical manner, always careful not to ramble on or give too many facts and figures. She dealt with sensitive issues and stories with compassion and her ability to tell the stories of so many people, added to the experience. Although we saw, experienced and heard a fortune, we were never rushed. Somehow, Ula knew when to move on.
Our first day tour included Treblinka, a visit to the Warsaw Zoo to see the Villa and hear the story of The Zabinski family- the setting of The Zookeeper’s Wife, the Nozyk Synagogue, the Main Street of the Warsaw Ghetto, the Ghetto walls in different spots, the Jewish Cemetery, the site where Edelman escaped through the sewers from the Ghetto, the site of the wooden bridge which joined the small and large Ghetto, Kerata House, the Memorial to the Ghetto Uprising, Umschuplatz, the statue of Jan Karski and many more.

Our second day included driving to Majdanek and Lublin.

I cannot praise Ula (nor thank her) sufficiently for giving us such a comprehensive, educational, enjoyable, insightful and informative 2 days.

Warsaw Wonderful Walk-About With Ula!

Warsaw is the Most Beautiful City! We had the pleasure of touring with Ula, and we had the most wonderful time. Ula's Tour is Premium 5 Star Adventure. Ula engaged us with Warsaw, this City is alive with the Lovely Old Town, Churches, Culture, Artwork, People and Delicious Cuisine. Our favorite events of the day were the visits to the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, Seeing the Mermaid of Warsaw, Syrenka Warszawska and learning of her Legend in Castle Square, the Sigismund's Column, with his Sword Ready to Protect Poland, Pope John Paul II's statue & Blessings, the birth home and history of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, and the beautiful music of Chopin about Warsaw. Ula's knowledge of Warsaw, was so immense, and she shared with us the people's perspectives, strengths and Power to Persevere. Ula's Tour was so touching, intelligent and heartfelt for us, since knowing that our Grandparents had immigrated from Poland. Ula was sure to have us rest and enjoy Chopin's Wonderful Music. She was especially great with my Mom travelling about in a wheelchair, finding all the easy paths about Old Town, including the best coffee and carrot cake stops.
Thank you Ula for sharing the Tour with us and adding humor, ... we know dealing with two adult sisters and their mom is a handful. Best to you, we are Grateful! xoxox

PS, next time we are bringing our husband's on this tour to leave love locks and Cheer for the Legia Warszawa Football Club!

Ula provided a wonderful tour for my daughter and myself to a town about an hour outside of Warsaw. We had planned to visit this town, in which my family came from, but did not have any specific addresses or landmarks to visit. We were interested in going to the town and just seeing what was there and have the experience of being in the town that my family used to live. Ula was willing to oblige our request and even try to figure out where in the town we should go. Her warm personality, wonderful attitude, and easy-going nature made it very easy for us to get along and embark in this journey. Ula quickly became just as interested in our venture and once we were there she went out of her way to help us find some specific sites to see. Her vested interest and curious nature made this trip an amazing day. Ula spoke excellent English, willing to go out of her way to make our trip meaningful, and could even provide a lot of great information about Poland and its history. We were so happy that we found her and would recommend her to anyone traveling in that area!

Why take a packaged tour when Ula can deliver a custom itinerary? She was our attentive guide, driver, and expressive translator as we explored our ancestors' villages and parishes. Ethnographic and outdoor (skansen) museums were on the agenda, as well as pre-arranged visits with family. She prepared it all. Gingerbread Museum in Torun - check. Skansen in Sierpc - check. Request to visit the skansen archives - check. Each and every request delivered upon with good humor and professionalism. We had so much fun traveling with her! She didn't hesitate to approach people in cemeteries to see if living relatives were still in the village, and when one ancestral church was closed for renovation, she found the pastor at a neighboring parish, and brought him back to unlock the door! Talk about custom care. I have been to Poland in the past and I can guarantee Ula is in the top tier of guides. Don't hesitate to take your travel plans to her. She will create a journey to remember!
Dziękuję ci bardzo, Ula!

Ula was our guide and translator in Warsaw, then accompanied us to meet my husband's cousin in a small town. It was excellent and I would recommend Ula without reservation! We enjoyed spending time with her and benefited from her knowledge of Poland. Our family members enjoyed meeting her as well. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you Ula!

I have wanted to visit Poland for many years & it was of the utmost importance that I could get to the small village where my grandmother was born & see for myself where my roots are. I thought that Ula would simply be our guide, driving us from Warsaw & showing us the area & the church where my grandmother was baptized. But because she is an enthusiastic genealogy guide willing to go the extra mile to get real results with her preparation, approaching people with just the right questions & a smile that encourages the sharing of information in a relaxed, easy way, I got so much more. Without her, I wouldn’t have had the great pleasure of meeting previously unknown relatives, expanding my knowledge & my family tree, making this one-day excursion a surprising & memorable event.
Ula is also available for interesting & informative historical tours in Warsaw which she will tailor to your interests & your pace...she’s very flexible.
Ula is much more than a professional guide sharing the history of her city & country...she is a partner in one of life’s dreams & she made mine come true!

Without Ula, this day would not have been half of the experience it was.

I booked the private tour through another company... and did not know that I could book direct. I would have done so, and will do when in Poland again.

Ula collected me from my Hotel on time and when we went to collect the other participant she graciously showed me the Ghetto Wall fragment that I had not yet visited. Particularly relevant to me as one of the missing bricks from the Zlota St Wall is at the Melbourne Holocaust Museum in Melbourne.

At that point my camera ran out of memory on the SD card... With no hesitation Ula whipped us back to my Hotel to collect the other one.

The trip to Treblinka is an hour and a half. She provided a great overview of Polish history... right through to the time of the Holocaust and then after.

She answered every question and then some.

The memorial is a a moving as it ought to be. A stark reminder of why NEVER AGAIN.

Ula first took us to the little museum where we watched some DVD’s and heard moving testimony from a survivor.

As we moved through the forest Ula allowed us as much time as we needed to reflect, question or just stand and wonder. She continued to provide information about the site and where the buildings, gas chambers, and pits were. Allowing us time to sently wander amongst the 17,000 stones.

I never felt rushed, I felt like I could ask what I needed. I’ll was able to answer all my questions.

On the way back I wasparticularly interested in Poland post Communism, especially for her generation. This is the generation of my daughter and it was fascinating to listen and understand the differences.

I wished I had more time. I would have liked coffee and cake to continue the conversation. I would have booked Ula for other trips.

Next time, when the days are longer.

I highly recommend Ula. As a solo female traveller, she provides a safe, secure and highly professional service. Her English is fabulous. Her knowledge is outstanding and her ability to engage with those she guides is outstanding.

This is a six hour round trip. Take a drink and a snack. You won’t be disappointed.

5 star service.

Ula was more than an excellent guide. She exceed her responsibilities as a guide by seeking out information from people who might provide information that I was seeking. Very knowledgeable and a good communicator. No negatives.
