- Jenny LWorcestershire, United Kingdom13 contributionsOk on a Rainy AfternoonThe museum is quite small so unless you stop to read everything you can be round it in half an hour. They do show a film about neon signs around Warsaw which is quite interesting, if rather long. It was interesting though, as I've never given neon signs a second thought! You can only take photos with a phone, you can't use a camera.Visited October 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten October 19, 2020
- Neatham641 contributionsMore than just neon signsThere are many interesting boards to read about the history of neon signs and their importance to Warsaw. Apart from admiring the art and technology, you can watch a very interesting film about neon signs in Warsaw. We spent an hour very happily here and it's not expensive to visit.Visited February 2020Written February 15, 2020
- Lizara K195 contributionsInterestingThis is a small, unusual museum. I appreciated the information in both Polish and English about each sign, although it wasn't always placed in the most obvious position, and the accompanying pictures of the signs where they used to be. There are a few paragraphs about the history of neon signs in Poland, and these were quite adequate to give the necessary context. I did feel that the museum would really benefit from an expansion as the collection is a bit chaotic at the moment and seemingly placed however the signs would fit, with a few signs visible sitting in corners but not displayed. It's also in a very inconvenient location. I felt it was worth the trip out anyway, but it may not be worth it to someone less interested in the subject. Finally, their rule about not allowing DSLR photos is just bizarre when many modern phones can take better pictures than older DSLRs. At least you can take photos with your phone without any difficulty.Visited February 2020Written February 1, 2020
- Katie CBirmingham, United Kingdom9 contributionsA waste of timeI think this museum is probably a waste of time for most people. The actual museum is the size of a large room in your house and just literally has neon signs. We wouldn’t recommend this to friends unless you actually really like neon. For anyone else, it’s a waste of time & money.Visited February 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten February 10, 2020
- Christina ANicosia, Cyprus39 contributionsCute little museumA very original museum which is great fun for taking photographs and learning more about the signs. It’s really small. It would be nice if someone was available to provide more info (maybe this is something that is offered, but not at the time we were there). The girl at the reception was a bit rude.Visited July 2022Traveled with friendsWritten July 9, 2022
- Ian DCaterham, United Kingdom8 contributionsDifferent type of museum but not that easy to get to, especially on foot.Different type of museum but not in an easy location to walk to (as we did). It was surrounded by works on the day we went so difficult to find. Inside felt rather second rate as if some neon lights (not all of which work but some are simply broken) had just been put into a warehouse. Did give an interesting history on the discovery of neon though.Visited October 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten October 21, 2022
- Satunnainen matkaaja4 contributionsGreat museum with rare and unique subjectVery unique museum for rescued old neons explaining their history and also their role in Polish history. Museum is not very big but covers the subject very well. Not safe for lively small kids. The neons are not to be touched! They are fragile and some had dire warnings one to get electrocuted if touched. For adults and teens this is great! The location is a bit shady. But that increased the experience.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 24, 2023
- jsilverman83Oakland, California354 contributionsGreat little museum! It's a bit hard to find and a little small, but absolutely worth it! The informational signs are all in Polish and English and tell the history of neon and neon signs and their existence in Poland (and Warsaw specifically). They have a pretty large collection of lit up and not lit up signs, most of which have at least some info on what they are and where they were originally. It's a really interesting history and some beautiful art to see these signs up close.Visited March 2020Written March 1, 2020
- PatoukeEdinburgh, United Kingdom130 contributionsLarge neons collectionAs a big fan of neon art, this was a must-visit place for me. The museum is hidden in a Soho Factory grounds, located in an old warehouse and looks very unassuming from outside. The exhibition entails a large collection of neons but also a historic background on neon art and scientific origin. Most of neon signs have been saved from destruction, refurbished and now working, some are damaged but each tell their own unique story. There’s an interesting piece to read about the group that works on collecting and restoring neon signs. Ticket to the museum is not expensive and the proceedings goes mainly towards maintainable of neons. Staff are relaxed and friendly, small gift shop area offers little range of neon-inspired souvenirs and books.Visited October 2018Traveled soloWritten March 2, 2019
- Natalia SWarwickshire, United Kingdom199 contributionsFun and different museum.I came here with my cousin (and on recommendation from my mother). We fully enjoyed the museum, all of the neons had a brief history of the neon sign and there is information at the front before you enter the exhibition about neon and how it was created. I can still just about remember seeing some of these signs in their original homes and my cousin said the cinema signs are still neon in a majority of the cinemas in Warsaw. I highly recommend it because it is just so different (and provides for some great pictures). I will definitely come back as they do get new neons on show and it’s a relaxing museum.Visited February 2019Traveled with friendsWritten February 10, 2019

Very interesting museum with great collection of neon signs. I learned a lot about the use of neon and the history of the signs in Poland. Definitely worth visiting although a bit hard to find.

Downloaded an app ‘In your pocket’ and found the Neon Muzeum recommended. What a find! Housed in an interesting old factory building, it was a fascinating collection of old neon signs, some illuminated, rescued from buildings whose use had changed. One wall was dedicated to the history of neon and a short film, both in English and Polish. Bargain at 12 zlotys.

Well worth a visit, the first neon museum in Poland. Signs have been rescued from the communist era. They depicted products rather than branding, even during hard times when shops in reality had empty shelves. Do watch the film, a fascinating insight of those times when the only cars on the road were Fiat “maluch” with up to 10-year waiting list. As Warsaw people evaluate their history those neon signs make Warsaw what it is.

First time visiting this type of museum. The idea is good but we only been there about 15 minutes, because there is not a lot to see. However, the history of the museum is interesting.

This museum holds an interesting collection of neon signs which are well displayed and had a very reasonable entry fee. The museum is fairly small so we did not spend too long here - maybe 40 minutes.
Note that there are rules about photos - which seemed to be camera phone only and for personal use. I could have asked about using our DSLR but felt it was pretty clear on the signage.
We cycled to the museum on the Veturilo bikes after visiting the nearby Vodka museum.

Another small museum off the beaten path. The collection contains hundreds of dazzling neon signs and other electro-graphic artifacts
Take your time and stroll around the neon and learn its history.

This is probably one of the most interesting off the beaten track place in Warsaw - perhaps the whole Poland. This small but friendly museum retraces the history of Neon and displays some samples of neon panels that one day illuminated buildings, train stations, stores, restaurants and streets.
The museum is located out of the city centre in a warehouse-like building giving it even more character.
From the Old Town take tram 26 (Wiatraczna) and get off at Goclwaska stop than head straight to Goclwaska street. In a 5-minute walking you are there. From Centralna Train Sation, jump onto Tram 9 or 22 and do the same.
If you have time it is worth a visit.

Ok, we have had the privilege of a guided tour from the Muzeum's Director, in English, so we are talking real contagious passion. We are talking labour of love, hundreds of stories, intersections of strange social histories and outstanding graphic design talents of the bygone regime.
David Hill's enthusiasm for the amazing art of Polish socialist neon design makes this Muzeum even more special than its one-of-a-kind collection with nothing similar to be found elsewhere in the world. Amazing in scope, outstanding in commitment, it is a new kid on the block and can do with more funding - private initiative can do only so much.
It was a highlight for my Australian-American-English guests who have seen it all. The shop has fantastic paraphernalia worth taking home in the original period paper bags.
Do go, kids will love it, so will the graphic design art - minded adults.
