This building had been fully destroyed by Nazi German soldiers during the war - like the entire WarSaw. It was rebuilt and shows that everything is possible if you really want it. You will find there many interesting pieces of art and watch a movie about the history of the castle.

So impressed at what was achived after the lunacy of ww2 and its main aggressors (you know who i mean). To destroy such a piece if history.....insanity....but a fantastic credit to the people of Warsaw and the people of Poland that they achieved such a remarkable rebuild in such a short time and in such great detail. WONDERFUL!

Find out all you need to know about Warsaw and its history here in Zamek Krolewski W Warszawie. Standard static displays, multimedia audio-visual sessions, reconstructions and a wander about the building all help to blend the overall atmosphere.

After seeing pictures of the rubble left after the war, a fantastic job has been made to restore the castle. We did not go through the tour as we did not have enough time. It may be worth going around to the front, as it is rather grand.

We went on a weekend break to Warsaw and decided we had little time to visit museums or castles but being rainy we decided to go a visit. We got the pleasant surprise it was free. After a reasonable 15 minutes wait we got in, I have been in many other castles and palaces in Europe and people in Warsaw... More

The Castle was much better than I thought it would be as I was thinking what will there be as I knew the Nazis had blown it up in WWII. But it is amazing what was able to be saved, either by staff in the early stages of the war and just after the castle being destroyed or artwork which... More

The entrance fee is only 10 zloty for students. The castle is huge with amazing arts display. Almost everything has English signs explaining what is this piece of work and more. Do memorize what number the room or hall is so you won't miss a thing. The nearest tram and bus station is Stare Miastro (2 minutes walk to the... More
