We were in the Old Town on Sunday and decided to see if there were huge queues on the free day. Fortunately there weren't so we obtained our free tickets and waited around 10 minutes to start the tour. It is incredible to think this whole place has been rebuilt in recent years yet still feels centuries old. Some of... More

This large castle located on a hill with great views of the city was well worth the visit. Numerous halls and grand rooms can be viewed and an audioguide is available.

The Royal Castle was built in the 1600's, plundered, repurposed following various attacks throughout history. Almost completely destroyed in 1944. Today is a national museum and World Heritage Site. It is a great place to start your tour of Old Town as it sits at the entrance.

I visited the Castle my first day in Warsaw; interesting and okay; maybe because I was so tired. However, that evening I went to a concert of Mozarts music in the Grand Hall of the Castle, and it had to be one of the highlights of my visit to Poland; the music was outstanding, played on period instruments; the setting... It gives you an idea if what Warsaw was before communism took its toll on the country, definitely worth a visit.

Right in the "start" of Old Town is beautiful Square, where is also King Sigismund's Column and this beautiful Royal Castle. Funny thing was, that I didn't even realized before that there could be Royal Castle in Warsaw, especially after WW II. 90min Tour gives you good picture what life was like back then. Easy to get here, because Hop... More

My grandfather is from Poland and we have family in Poland so while we were on a guided tour through the city it was highly recommended we take the tour through the castle. Unfortunately our guide was very long winded and we stood around a lot listening to her and begging my brother to not ask another question. After 1... More

The Royal Castle was remarkably quiet with probably less than a dozen visitors.(we chose not to go on a Sunday when it is free as no doubt it is much busier). We were therefore able to see each room in all its glory. The Castle reminded us more of a slightly shabby stately home than a royal palace but that's... More
