- Gretchen HFrederick, Maryland16 contributionsOmg it was amazing!!It was unplanned at the time, I was looking to kill an hour before I could get into my hotel and I was looking around the cloth hall and this little gem was tucked in the corner. History for centuries of the main square in Kraków. So much to see and learn, so many artifacts and representations, it’s interactive and so very cool. A definite must see in Kraków.Visited January 2020Traveled soloWritten January 27, 2020

The buildings are characteristic and colourful and there are also restaurants, bars and other museums. In the winter there is a food fair and skating rink.Visited February 2020Written February 19, 2020
- TravelhampsterMiddletown, Connecticut91 contributionsGorgeous year roundOld Town Warsaw is a beautiful place to visit at any time of year. In the winter months it has a frosty beauty to it and you can warm up with mulled wine and hot chocolate throughout Old Town. In the spring and summer open air jazz concerts take place near the mermaid fountain and delicious lemonade, gofry and lody can be purchased at outdoor stalls.Visited July 2022Written January 5, 2023

Like almost everything in the Old Town, this square and all the houses were rebuilt after the war according to their original form. Walking around Warsaw at night on our first visit, I had no idea what to expect, I was just walking with my wife enjoying the Old Town but when we turned on one street and faced this pretty square, we just got wordless! It is really beautiful, small but beautiful and peaceful. By night,
it is very special. People are just sitting on the benches watching others passing by, or looking at the Warsaw Mermaid monument or the colorful buildings themselves. Don't miss it if you are in this historic city. By the way, we had to return next day in the morning so we could admire both night and day moments.

I was quite impressed by the rebuilt Old Town of Warsaw. The people of Warsaw endured a lot during WW II including the destruction of their city. It was a great idea to rebuild the Old Town Square as it stood before the war. I can't imagine what it would look like if they opted to build modern communist style buidlings. I was quite impressed with the square and can understand why it has become a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are lots of fabulous restaraunts and cafes in the area where you can sit outdoors and have a beer and watch the people. Not to be missed!

It being my first time in Poland, Warsaw was a shock for me the city is beautiful and very modern. I'm Canadian so coming to Poland for the first time I did not know what I was in for. I have been all over Western and Southern Europe however, this was my first time east of Germany. I really enjoyed all the culture that the city of Warsaw had to offer and would go back in a heart beat. There was so much to do from shopping for Amber jewlery, clothing, restaurants, etc. Warsaw had it all. I would go back for sure. The Old Market was a very nice square to check out as there were restaurants all over and shops.
