On the search for the synagogue we first find this beautiful church at square Grzybowski. The outside is quite impressive, rather modest the inside. In front of the church there is a monument of the still beloved pope John Paul II. Pious people lay down flowers there. Be respectful and don't disturb the believers inside the church.

Located at Grzybowski Square , probably the largest church in Warsaw , built during the second half of the 19th Cent.During WWII it was within the Jewish Ghetto borders , and operating , The Parish priest Godlewski , helped Jews to escape from the Ghetto and was rewarded "Righteous Among The Nations" Medal .
The two bell tower structure , was damaged by artillery during the war and renovations started after the war by the Communist Polish authorities . The church , with its Neoclassical style and three aisles , both inside and out is impressive and nice .
Don't miss the statue of Pope John Paul II standing in front of the church , built in 1993 to commemorate the Pope's third visit of Warsaw in 1987 .
Cameras at hand .

Throughout Warsaw, you can see many tributes to Pope John Paul II. The formal name of the church is All Saints Church. It is easily recognizable because of the statue of the Pope John Paul II on the steps that commemorates the Pope’s 1987 opening of the Second National Eucharistic Congress here. People leave flowers and candles in honor of him. Warsaw’s largest church (accomodates up to 3500 people) once served Christians of Jewish origin. The church suffered considerable damage in 1939 but was rebuilt after the war with financial support from the Jews in thanksgiving for their shelter in the rectory. This church is laid out in the form of a cross and has three aisles. There are paintings throughout and one side chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa, the Black Madonna. I recommend a visit to this church.

Very close to the Palace of Culture and Science and worth a brief diversion if you're visiting there. It is very sparsely decorated inside - it looks like it has been stripped - but is a beautiful building. The most noteworthy feature is the slightly comical statue of Pope John Paul II in "action pose" on the steps outside. When I visited, a group of school kids were lined up to take pictures as they high fived him. I don't know if this is a regular tradition.

This is a lovely church, located next to the old Jewish quarter.
While the exteriors of the church are quite impressive, once you get inside you discover most of its walls are barren and painting are sadly faded.
Still, it worth a 10-minute visit while in the area.

Lovely statue of the great man himself, Pope John Paul, an icon in Poland...........
Would have loved to go into the old church myself but there was Sunday service so....
Also they are doing up the old building so its not so pretty on the eye at the moment, still a nice peaceful place in the centre of Warsaw.

Unfortunately the Church was closed when i went there. Still, the outside architecture is really beautiful. Would have loved to go inside and check the interior. There is a lovely statue for Pope John Paul II outside.

All Saints church was yet another superb church that we chanced upon while we were exploring around this part of town.
We were having a look around the Jewish Quater of this city and this church looks so nice with it lovely facade and statue of the Pope on the steps and with the amazing Palace of Culture building as a backdrop makes for some great photographic opportunities.
Although the interior is no were near as opulent as some of the other churches we visited I found it quite refreshing to go into a church that you are not destracted by masses of gold reliefs and details.
All Saints Church is easy to locate on Ul.plac Gryzybowski .
A lovely church and one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.
