I really wanted to see the Pawiak Prison museum because I knew the impact of the place would have a profound effect, which it certainly does. The thing about places like Pawiak and Auschwitz is that you really don't need to know every single detail...More

Quite well done museum with helpful staff. Lots of information and artifacts. Displays are in former cells. We went on a Thursday which was free, not sure about admissions on other days.

We walked all the time while in Warsaw but the walk from the uprising museum to here took us past sex shops and some dubious clubs. We did cross the ghetto wall markers though so that was a bonus! The prison was only a block...More

interesting museum, particularly when combined with other historical, world war two trips! It builds part of a fantastic itinerary. It only takes 1-2 hours to look around and is very cheap so is definitely worth it, very informative without featuring too much information

The prison entry is 8 zlotys so well worth a little of your time while in Warsaw to learn about the history of the building and some of the people who unfortunately ended up here.

Interesting history to the museum and great exhibits on show inside. There is not much left of the actual prison apart from the wall outside and believe inside is a reconstruction but still worth a visit

Political freedom is something that many of us take for granted. But in the 1930s and 40s they could get you killed, tortured or otherwise inhumanely treated by the Nazi regime. I knew a reasonable amount about the awful treatment of Jews this showed me...More

The original prison was built in 1835. The Nazis used it as the largest political prison in Poland during the occupation of Warsaw in World War II. It is estimated that about 100,000 to 120,000 prisoners passed through Pawiak, mostly members of the underground resistance...More

Great place to visit even if history isn't your thing. It's easy to get emotional when you see the different displays. Easily accessible by public transportation.
