    Worth a walk
Krakowskie Przedmiescie is the main shopping thoroughfare in central Warsaw. There are some interesting stores to wander through (we enjoyed Hot Sox and several of the bookstores) as well as cafes. The street is generally only open to bus and taxi traffic making it easier to navigate. Do explore some of the side streets.

A great avenue to walk in Warsaw to get to the Old Town.
Krakowskie Przedmieście was established in the 15th century and is one of the best known and most prestigious streets of Warsaw, surrounded by historic palaces, churches and manor-houses. This pleasant Avenue constitutes the northernmost part of Warsaw's Royal Route and is well worth a walk from taking in many famous landmarks along the way... Including the Church of the Holy Cross, the Presidential Palace and various monuments.

    A street fit for royalty!
The old "Royal Road" stretching about 5 kilometers, from the Royal Palace in Old Town to Wilanow Palace. Lined with impressive palaces, monuments, and ornate churches. A great place to walk to soak up the best of Warsaw's culture, art and history.

This beautiful avenue is the northernmost part of the Royal Route. It leads to the Old Town and the Royal Castle.

The street is surrounded by historic palaces, churches, and manor-houses. The Presidential Palace, Warsaw University, and the two leading Warsaw hotels Raffles and Bristol are located by this street.

Once the first section of the Royal Route, today it is the most illustrious street in the city. We were staying quite close to it so we had the pleasure of walking it many times, each of which was delightful.

It is lined with churches and grand palaces. The Holy Cross church is magnificent. Within is the heart of the revered composer Chopin. Entrance to the university is through impressive gates; the campus is grand for a leisurely and relaxing stroll around.

The Presidential Palace has the dramatic statue of Prince Józef Poniatowski by Bertel Thorvaldsen in front. A memorial to those who died in the 2010 Smolensk plane crash is to be seen here.

Hotel Bristol is a landmark on the thoroughfare. Its facade is gorgeous. The Polish Academy of Sciences has the fine Monument of renown astronomer and mathematician Nicolaus Copernicus in front.

Tyskiewicz Palace at No 32 has a terrific facade, with the central portion supported by a line of Atlantes. The interior is lovely and currently it forms part of Warsaw university.

Rococo is the predominant style in the beautiful Church of St. Joseph of the Visitationists. Carmelite Church - Our Lady of the Assumption has a grand facade and the interior is wonderful. St. Anne's Church has an impressive Neoclassical facade and the adjoining Old Town Observation Terrace.

The Adam Mickiewicz monument honouring Poland's most famous poet is imposing in its own little park at the top of the street.

This route will take you to the famous Old Town and Castle Square, but this is about Krakowskie Przedmiescie. If the weather is great, please stroll on both sides of this route. You will have many places to sit and drink and eat and talk. This wide avenue is definitely for strolling, eating, and don't forget -- a good conversation with the person, people, or family that you are with. Even if the weather is not so great, the cafes and restaurants will not disappoint you. And the costs won't break your bank (budget).
Remember, when traveling, do spend a certain amount of money so that you can tell others how great was the food and drink and whatever else you experienced there.
I say, you will not forget Krakowskie Przedmiescie if you like to eat and drink.

Fantastic walk from Nowy Swiat all the way down to the Old Town. Beautiful buildings, several churches to look inside, statues, restaurants and bars. Explore a little off the side streets too. Excellent way to spend an afternoon.

Fascinating long urban street, from the square of the castle you forward to the furthest suburbs, to reach different summer royal palaces, splendid museums today.

The street is lined with splendid buildings and magnificent churches.
Always busy with people offering cafes and restaurants at every hour of the day or night!

Absolutely to wander carefree admiring the order and cleanliness which was held! @gargio76

The fisrt road on Royal Way. This astonishing boulevard has been crossed by kings, noblemenand and presidents. It is full of statues, Prince Poniatowski, Copernicus, Mickiewicz Monument, beautiful churces such as church of the Holy Cross, St. Annes and fascinating buildings such as presidential palace, bristol hotel etc.
It stretches from the Royal Castle Pl. Zamkowy in the Old Town until Nowy Świat.

One of the most beautiful streets Of Old Warsaw, a part of the so-called Royal Route going from the Royal Castle to Łazienki and further to Wilanow. Plent of old houses, some churches, monuments. Warsaw University old campus, Fine Arts Academy, etc. After an extensive restoration works several years ago turned into a fine place for an afternoon Sunday walk. Cafes and restaurants all way long. A visit card of the City and definitely a must see. During Xmas time beautiful decorations and lightning.

Filled with little cafes and restaurants, plenty of significant buildings and leading the way to the Old Town, this street is like a bridge between modernity and history. Its wide pedestrian walks, the stillness of buildings mixed with the hustle of buses and cars (which are by no means annoying but part of this street's character) gave me a wonderful feeling. The celebrations of 70 years since the Warsaw Uprising made this place even more special, with music, dance and hundreds of boy and girl scouts filling its length.
