About
Adventure Warsaw since 2009 discover Warsaw to foreign guests. During our tours by retro vans You will get an opportunity to touch the atmosphere of the unknown city. We discover local spirit of Praga district, pre-War Downtown, relicts of Communism and modern, green Powiśle area. Part of experience of polish culture and history is a visit in our Museum of Life under Communism. We can't avoid trying typical polish food having lunch in a milk bar. Variety of tours and activities, local passionate guides and staff open for new challenges - this is Adventure Warsaw.

We had an 8-hour layover in Warsaw and opted for the Stop Over Warsaw tour from Adventure Warsaw. The guide was waiting for us when we arrived, took us not only to the main tourist sites, but also to those places of importance that most tourists might not visit, all with amazing commentary and good will. We saw a bazar with wedding gowns, ate bigos (cabbage and beef) and grilled cheese at a market, drank hot spiced wine, climbed a tower with incredible views of the Old Town and the Vistula, heard Chopin played on a bench on the King's Way and saw reproductions of Canaletto paintings illustrating the faithfulness to detail of Warsaw's recreation of their city after WWII. All this and more and still arrived back at the airport in time for our connecting flight. I highly recommend Adventure Warsaw and wish we had more time to spend with this group. Definitely one of the best travel decisions I have ever made.

I would strongly recommend taking part in an Adventure Warsaw tour to anyone in the city. Our guide Conrad was knowledgeable, interesting and really brought the history of the city to life throughout the tour. As someone with a keen interest in history I came away feeling enlightened and keen to learn more about the city during WW2. Conrad also bent over backwards to accommodate us and helped us acclimatize to the city, helping us pick up tickets for the Legia Warsaw game that evening.

The Tour itself started with a pick up in the city centre at the Hard Rock Cafe where we were greeted in a pink Nysa van - a relic from the communist era. The tour visited the old Jewish quarter of the city, the bohemian Praga district, the Politechnika Univertsity, the Palace of Culture and Science and the Museum of Life under Communism. A highlight of the tour was lunch in an old milk bar where we were treated to various traditional Polish delicacies.

An absolutely fantastic tour, thank you for a really enjoyable and interesting time.

We were picked up at the hotel, not quote knowing what to expect. When Arthur showde up with his mini-bus, we immediately felt comfortable with what was to come. His team of 2 other cab drivers took us for a full program along Warsaw, introducing the history of it's 1944 trauma but moreover the communist era that seized and took over the fate of Warsaw until the 90's. IT was great to hear the story of someone ego experienced the communist regime himself! Arthur did a great job!
Arthur's explanation convinced u's that a 2 day stay in Warsaw simply is not enough. This capital offers you many more days of history, in several chapters, erachter dependentie on your personal interest.

Adventure Warsaw made a large contribution to that experience!

This tour was brilliant and an absolute highlight of our trip to Warsaw. It was organised locally by my friend Ania who lives in Warsaw who knew it was the best tour available. We got picked up at our hotel (on time) in the old 1970's communist minibus which immediately transported us to this era. The 3 hour tour was fascinating and our guide who spoke fantastic English gave us a real insight into how Warsaw changed pre and post WW2. We saw parts of the city hidden from the average tourist and away from the reconstructed old town. The tour finished with a stop at a fab little cafe bar where some of us indulged in vodka and herring courtesy of our guide.

I would highly recommend this tour, excellent value for money and something very different from the average city tour!

This museum will be a fascinating place to see for people like me who used to live in Poland in the Communist era, but also for the new generation born after 1989 who had never experienced life under communism.

It is a real trip back in time, with typical interiors recreated very faithfully with genuine furniture and objects from the 1950's to the 1980's. A great collection of items, a lot of them instantly bringing back memories of childhood and teenage years (yes I was at that Rolling Stones concert, aged only 13 and still bragging about it). A real 'time-capsule' of everyday life in the "PRL".

There is an excellent cafe on site and a small souvenir shop, most notably selling the drink of my childhood, 'oranżada'.

Great tour of Communist-era Warsaw in a Nysa van. My wife an I ended up with a private tour with our very personable and knowledgable guide, Artur, who spoke very good English and was happy to answer questions on any and all topics. Really gave us a sense of life at that time in this now very, modern city. Highly recommended!

Artur gave my parents a tour experience that they named the absolute best part of their 16 days in Poland. Artur's tour highlights the juxtaposition of Poland's history seen in many neighborhoods. We gained context beyond the history we could read in books. We give our tour the highest possible marks.

We booked the Warsaw tour for our 13 hour layover last June. All of our prior communication was with Rafal and we were expecting to see him or Martha based on all of the excellent reviews we read before booking. Instead we got Michael, a 20-something guy that was (according to him) sleep deprived because he watched soccer (football) championship happening at that time in Warsaw. He drove us around town complaining on the lack of parking in the city and how he would have still be asleep if not for us and our tour. When we booked our tour we asked to hear about the history, the before and after the communists because we wanted our kids to have an opportunity to learn about a different culture. All we got was several attempts to see places that were a private property and access was denied, and some churches along the way. The communist history was marked by the building that was a gift from Soviet Union and the Jewish uprising was represented by the graffiti marked ruins of the last surviving structure of the ghetto and the one and only synagogue left in the city. Since we had an 8 hour tour booked we needed a lunch, so Michael recommended a small restaurant. We placed our order and Michael ordered for himself. While we were waiting for the food Michael was telling us about his family problems and the recent passing away of his father. When the time came to pay he said that he left his wallet in the car and we had to pay for him. We were never told that paying for our guide's lunch was a part of the deal and he never paid us back. After lunch there were some more pointless driving around until my husband was fed up and wanted to go back to the airport. It was too early for our flight so I said that we should go and see the Old Town. That was a good idea because this part was actually the best. There was a king's castle and some beautiful buildings and shops but there was barely any historical commentary from Michael. After that it was time to go back to the airport and we were ready to say Goodbye to Michael. The next day we received an email from Martha asking for the comments on the tour. When I told her about our experience she was very surprised and attributed it to Michael's personal problems. Apparently, it is known that he has some and he still was employed as a guide. The company did not offer us any refund for bad experience but offered us a free tour the next time we are in Warsaw. After this experience I do not think we will take them up on it.

Dear Traveller, We feel that your opinion is far from truth. Below find out our response: 1. If you were so much dissatisfied with our service why were you waiting ONE YEAR to put this review? ONE YEAR AFTER THE TOUR! 2. Service in our opinion was well prepared. Guide was on time at the airport with comfortable car. We arranged all the program before you arrival. We always show the City from different perspective. We usually start from Pre-War Warsaw and communist relicts to end in typical tourist spots like Old Town and Royal Route. This way you can see the real Warsaw. 3. We were not on the trip so we can only show feedback from a guide. Michael said that from the first moment you were bored and tired after the flight. Anything that he showed didn’t arise any interest in you. This is very difficult situation for a guide especially in a private tour. 4. For the last 4 years we showed Warsaw to dozens of tourist. This is our authorial program, places are not typical, but only there you can experience the real history. We are aware that there is always someone that won’t feel that atmosphere. 5. Your guide Michael is NOT WORKING with us anymore. Michael that is on our web page is a different person, so this is amazing that you even don’t remember how your guide looks like. 6. There is an unwritten rule that tourists invite a guide for a lunch if it's during the tour. I think it’s common all over the world, so we are surprised with this complain. 7. All our guests are paying after the trip, so they know what they pay for. In case you are disappointed, you are never forced to pay. 8. After the tour we always ask for feedback our guests as we care about our service. We don’t feel that we made something wrong and you didn’t ask for any refund. Complain about lack of refund is also inappropriate.

My boyfriend and I visited Warsaw for 2 nights last week. We had seen the fab reviews for Adventure Warsaw, so instantly booked it. We are so glad we did, as its one of the best tours we have ever been on. Thomas, our guide picked us up from our hotel in a brilliantly retro bright yellow van, we were taken to various parts of the city and Thomas was very knowledgeable about everything he showed us and also very passionate about his city. The best part of the tour was our drink in a bar in the bohemian part of the town. It was very local and you really felt part of the culture. Having Thomas there made it all feel very comfortable and a lot of fun. Definitely recommend the tour to anyone visiting Warsaw!
