A modern multiplex cinema implanted In the bowels of that Stalinist wedding cake in the center of Warsaw, the Palace of Culture, ‚gift’ of the Soviet Union to Poland. (The old joke goes that the best view of Warsaw is from the Palace’s top floor since you can’t see the Palace itself from that vantage point.) A top selection of the best world films with Polish subtitles. Well worth visiting. Excellent atmospheric cafés too.

I've been trying to buy tickets for a very popular screening time at Kinoteka, and it seems you can't buy without a Polish bank account linked to a platform called Blik - or else use a foreign transfer service which will cost many times the price of the ticket. Anyone know how I can just use a credit card to buy the tickets?

We decided to experience the cinema in warsaw. At the kinoteka cinema u can find also english movies as they have sub titles in polish. What we liked about this cinema was the interior very classic!

Modern Movie Theater in a wonderful and extraordinary setting. Entering the building alone and buying the Tickets at one of the four counters in the round entrance Hall conveys a real Special Vibe. The Screenings are in Original Language with polish subtitles (except for animated movies, which are dubbed). Prices are very reasonable (- especially compared to German prices) There is a nice cafè inside the building which offers delicious cake and coffee. It would be my favourite Movie Theater, if I lived in Warshaw.

Heavy stone and wood everywhere, the theater lobby comes with a well stocked standard drinks and popcorn setup. Friendly staff. Sanitary facilities in place, although a bit worn and medium clean. Theater viewing rooms are not the most modern, but comfortable enough, and rather small and cozy. Enjoyable.

Came across info in Tourist Information. As we were in the area and it’s FREE on THURSDAYS we were intrigued.
It’s a bit hard to find as it’s off the Main Street, down an alley and across a small courtyard.
It’s a small, quaint old place. The centre of the room is a large wooden drum, with 24 stools all around it, each by a goggles shaped hole. So you sit, lean forward on the shelf, and 3D images rotate every minute or so. Currently photos of 50’s America, but it’s the experience that matters more than the images.
Unique experience.
