This Cathedral was built in the beginning of 20th century in Neo-Gothic style during time when Poland was not on the map after partitions between the Russian, Prussian and Austro-Hungarian Empires. Warsaw was incorporated within the Russian Empire and that time it was almost impossible to get a permission to build a Catholic church. As a example not far from here there was already the Orthodox Church of Mary Magdalene, the tallest building in Praga which was seen as a symbol of domination by the Russians. Church is beautiful, especially at night.

BAZYLIKA SWIETYCH MICHALA I FLORIANA ( ST FLIRIANS CATHEDRAL ) is yet another beautiful cathedral in this city that has it's fair share of great looking churches and cathedrals.
Located across the river and not in the main tourist hangouts the church with its twin bell towers looks awesome, like most of the prominent buildings in Warsaw this cathedral was heavily damaged during WW2 by the retreating German armed forces in 1944 but it was painstakingly rebuilt post war to its present splendid best.
Although it's not an essential must go destination on your holiday to Warsaw if your in the area it's well worth checking out.
The cathedral can Also be viewed from the Old Town as it's one of the tallest structures in the city.
Very easy to locate by jumping tram number 4.13.20.23.26 to stop Park Praski 01 were you walk down Ul. Florianska were you cannot miss the massive cathedral.

After visiting and witnessing more than a dozen churches in Barouqe Style, when I visited the Bazylika katedralna Sw. Michala Archaniola i Sw. Floriana Meczennika I was in for a surprise.

This Gothic Masterpeice blew my mind. Needless to say that the beauty was a treat to the eyes as well.

The building is just over 100 years designed in a Gothic style with rain steeples. Very simple, elegant style without the ostentatious ornamentation of many Polish churches.

This is by far the nicest church in Warsaw. I'm not mad into religious buildings but love a bit of architecture. This was stunning and unlike others we saw in Warsaw.

This is St Florian and St.Michael the Archangel, also known as the Praga cathedral.
It is an impressive building outside - you can see the twin spires for quite a distance.
You can catch the tram to here. It is brown and white bricks, it is impressively tall inside, but for me the stain glass is too modern and not always too easy to see what they depict.
