An amazing place for everyone. Fantastic, modern, interactive museum. An amazing journey to the beginnings of Polish statehood. Can you get to know history and have a great time ? A stay in this interactive center is a great example that you can. A well-designed route and a friendly staff will tell you which sightseeing mode , for children or adults, we should choose. I recommend this one for adults, because it is more interesting and longer, but you can easily skip exhibits that do not interest us. But don't let the term "children's version" fool you. This is not some infantile story about the beginning of history, but a large portion of interesting information provided in the form of a game that will interest everyone, regardless of age. Amazing place and a must-visit point while in Poznan. The combination of the latest technology and history. We had a great time. I would highly recommend.

Great place to visit to get a real sense of Polish history. Really modern building located close to Cathedral Island. Great way to understand the land you're in.

This place is an interactive center of history where you can learn about roots of Poland and Poznan. It will guide you through 10 centuries of history in a very understandable and beatyful way.
It is a perfect place to start seeing Ostrów Tumski with Cathedral, Genius loci etc.

What a great building. It deserves a better content. The exhibition is about Poznan history. It is over sophisticated with new media which makes it very hard to get a storyline. Looks like the wiz kids won the battle from the historians. The information is so detailed that you get bored easily. They seem to have stretched their history to match the size of the building. Almost like the building has to compensate for their history. There are a lot of play grounds for kids in the building. It is a perfect place for families with small kids and parents that love architecture.

The music: gorgeous. The layout: visually compelling.
The tech: best I've seen in a museum. The English audio guide is of the best quality, AND it activated automatically for the short version of the tour if you're in a hurry. Any time you want to listen to the audio for one of the many extras, you point your little device at the picture of headphones and your auto-tour is interrupted. It picks up when you continue. Must use so many censors in the ceiling and floor to do this! Brilliant! View from the roof is great at sunset.
Nice staff, low price, very informative. First thing I did in Poland, after eating pierogies. You can't go wrong.
Oh, and your ticket is good for cathedral island up to 10 days later.

Modern style museum located near the Cathedral Island where you can learn about a history of the island and the very beginning of Poznań and Poland. There are English audio guides. There are to paths of visiting one for the youngest and one for adults, well the path is mostly the same but the audio guides tell you and instruct you to do different things - great idea. Plus the building has really interesting design, especially when you're inside of it.

Highly recommended museum that takes you through the history of the island on which Poznan cathedral is situated as well as the history of Poznan more broadly. Using multi language audio guides that sense where you are in the building and surrounding area it keeps you engaged and makes the visit interesting for all ages. The guided tour continued out of the centre taking you along the surrounding lanes and explained all of the cathedral buildings in their historical context. Really impressive, well done Poznan!

All in all worth a visit if you want to get your head around the early Polish historyl
Just a word of warning. To get from one exhibition room to the other one has to cross the glazed bridge, looking at the ground floor some 15 metres below. My wife who had at the time had a very strong fright of heights when stepped on the bridge kist frozen and refused to go beyond. She have seen just half of the exhibition and walked all the way down, as she was unable to progress. The staff looked at us as we were some aliens when we tried to go out through the entrance area, but nobody asked what had happened. It's a shame that you aren't made aware that there is such a thing as glazed bridge BEFORE you get the tickets!
But generally the place is worth a visit.
Its a multidisciplinary modern museum that would be suitable for all ages. Well worth a visit if you're taking a stroll around the Poznan cathedral.

The architecture and location are very interesting, but aside from a brief discussion of the early history of Cathedral Island, the interpretation felt extremely limited to the Catholic experience. At least it isn't too expensive. I thought the small exhibit on the entrance end of the bridge was more interesting. Possibly it was an exhibition of student work (there wasn't any English signage there).
