I enjoyed a full day tour of Poznan, Poland with Tomasz. He was friendly, funny, candid, generous, bold and extremely well versed in the subjects at hand, Poznan and Poland overall. He prepared thoroughly ahead of my arrival, met me early at my hotel, and dropped me off super informed and entertained. An absolutely memorable experience.

I found Thomas' website while searching for a local tourist guide service. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he also offers help with genealogy. The reason why I am coming to Poznan is to learn more about my ancestors. I had hit a real snag in my research and did not know where to turn next. Thomas was a blessing sent from above. I haven't even arrived yet and I am already super happy with Thomas' service. Thomas, if my trip to Poznan is only half as satisfying as your research results you will have made me a very happy man.

I met Tomasz Laskowski on October 8th in Bydgoszcz to begin visiting my ancestoral villages. We hit it off immediately. I asked to meet with two far-removed cousins in a Bydgoszcz restaurant and Tomasz made arrangements to do that. The next morning we drove to Mrozowo where Tomasz had made special arrangements to tour the “cow farm” located in the village where my great grandfather and his family lived and worked. They were workers for the Brinski family who owned multiple villages and vast lands. After touring the farm, we were invited for coffee where I had the best cup of coffee I have ever tasted. It was sweetened with the honey made by bees who fed on the flowers of the neighboring canola fields and the sweet cream of the local cows. It was wonderful. Somehow, that simple experience connected me to a far-off time and place. Did my ancestors enjoy a similar drink sweetened with honey and lightened with sweet cream? Later, as we drove around the village, Tomasz pointed out where my family's house would have stood and a small lake that was the same now as it was then. Much has changed, of course, but it was possible to imagine a little what life might have been in my gggrandparents time. As we entered each village on my ititerary, Tomasz contacted the priests of the local churches and we were able to view the altars and grounds of the churches. In the village of Slupy, the ancient baptismal font was still installed in the church. This was the font that my great great grandfather would have been baptized in1802. A huge crucifix, its surface cracked and warn, was displayed in the entry of the simple church. It was evident it was quite old and would have been hanging when my gggreat-grandfather knelt there in worship. Driving from village to village, I watched the countryside pass by and thought of those long-ago years when family trudged similar byways. The experience Tomasz provided for me was absolutely wonderful. He was courteous, provided comfortable travel and was solicitous of my personal comfort. He was knowledgeable answering my questions about the areas and customs of the people, then and now. For anyone wishing to enjoy the experience of a personal genealogical tour, I would highly recommend Tomasz as your guide.

Dear Traveler! :) Thank you for such wonderful feedback! It's amazing to see it and you made me smile :) both with long description and your fancy user code-name. ;) Yes, I have enjoyed every single minute spend with you and sightseeing your ancestry sites. For me it was fun to be your guide in that area. Out tour together was a great experience. We were looking for your ancestral roots in Witsitz Kreis, Regierungsbezirk Bromberg, province Posen - just for the record and small reminder. Believe it or not but thanks to you I have learned a lot as well. Thank you! Warm greetings from Poznan, Poland! Tomasz

We highly recommend Tomasz. In fact, we have a family member going to Poznan in December and we have recommended him to her. He showed up at our hotel early. He made it a point to learn about us so that he could point out sites of interest as we walked. Tomasz did an outstanding job of helping us understand the history of Poznan and how it relates to today. It was really interesting to learn just how important Poznan has been in the history of Poland.

Tomasz's trip plans went beyond what we expected. We saw things and visited places we never would have seen on our own. Complete tour of Poznan, Auschwitz, Krakow, Czestochowa and Our Lady of Czestochowa. Tomasz was very knowledgeable of Polish history. Spent one day visiting the church and towns where my father's parents were born and married. Tomasz did a wonderful job of helping me trace my family roots. Tomasz and his wife Ana were very personable and great traveling companions on our journey through Poland. Overall a great experience.
