About
The Enigma Cipher Centre is a brand of Poznań Heritage Centre – a municipal cultural institution. In line with our motto ‘True history. Challenge for the mind’, we use an innovative, multimedia exhibition to tell the story of the breaking of the code of the German cipher machine Enigma by Polish cryptologists: Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski and Jerzy Różycki. We want to unceasingly promote and popularise this unknown story because the contribution of the Polish mathematicians to the victory of the allies during the Second World War is still little known or even forgotten.

- Genevieve L65 contributionsFabulous, informative and interactiveSo interesting and interactive. You learn about the Polish effort to break the Enigma code AND all about cryptographic history through puzzles and activities. Puzzles have two levels and a child program is available. Don’t skip this place! Plan for a 2 hour stay.Visited May 2024Traveled soloWritten May 11, 2024
- Richard CMilton Keynes, United Kingdom14 contributionsState of the Art exhibition.Four of us - all Volunteers from Bletchley Park (UK) visited in May 2024. This is a state of the art immersive - interactive exhibition . The multi media guide takes you through each area where you can try out your code breaking skills. We spent 4.5 hours here. We owe so much to the Polish Code Breakers who broke the German Enigma code in 1932. The Cipher Centre stands on the site of the Cipher Bureau where the code breakers worked. Thanks to Marcin for looking after us.Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 16, 2024

Definitely worth a visit if your in Poznan. This is an extremely well laid out and informative museum. Although the main focus is on Polands work to crack enigma in WW2 it goes through the whole history of cryptography. Good English audio guide and lots of interactive areas that challenge you crack codes which would be good for children but also more challenging ones for everyone. If you have an interest you could spend hours in here ( I ran out of time as they were closing )!

Great informative and interactive museum. Very good audio guide which is part of entrance price (28zl). A good way to spend a few hours and part of the code braking story I knew nothing about (even after being to Bletchley!).
