The fountain of Apollo is located in the south-east corner of the Old Market Square , at the outlet of Świętosławska and Wodna Streets, in the place of one of four historic wells that for years supplied the inhabitants of Poznań with water. The creator of the fountain is Marian Konieczny. The fountain has an octagonal shape, it is made of sandstone. At its top there is a bronze statue of Apollo. Beside you can see the magnificent Poznan Town Hall.

One of the four “Mythological Roman theme” fountains located in the Poznan's Old Market square: Fountain of Mars, Fountain of Neptune, Fountain of Proserpina and the Apollo Fountain.
The statue of Apollo on the pedestal inside the basin, holding a lute on his right shoulder is located in the corner of the Old Market Square, near Wodna Street and Świętosławska Street. Apollo’s figure was sculpted by Marian Konieczny and unveiled in 2002 to replace the long-lost original.

You cannot miss the 4 fountains when in Poznan old town. They all have different characters and are all worth a look. Rebuilt after ww2.
