City of Lodz History Museum - More the history museum of famous sons and daughters of Lodz. A lot of the older exhibits have information only in Polish. The newer stuff has English translations as well. There's a new art gallery. The Café is very nice,

This museum gives one a sense of what Lodz and Poland were prior the war and eastern block years. A modern country with a strong industrial base.

The City Museum is housed in the beautiful palace which the Polish-Jewish industrialist Poznanski built alongside his vast industrial complex which today is the Manufaktura, the number one tourist destination for many in Lodz. Some of rooms of the palace are stunning (especially the dining room for example). The big surprise, for me, was that rooms are devoted to three... More

Once upon a time a Polish-Jewish industrialist by the name of Izrael Poznański who had built a textile empire in the city of Lodz bought a modest 2 storey home, then had it expanded and renovated into a magnificent Palace. Today that Palace at ul. Ogrodowa 15 hosts the Museum of History of Lodz. From the opulent furnished rooms to... More

It's really worth visiting. So many pretty litlle details to see and touch. It's advisable to see "Ziemia obiecana" "The promised land" before visiting.

Though the Poznanski's Palace definitely saw better days and requires some renovation it is the only thing worth wathing. Located inside, the so-called museum is just a bunch of things wrapped up together into uncoherent collections and misplaced exhibitions. Three dots for the architecture and some interiors.

The museum hosts a collection of very interesting stories about the city of Lodz and the Poznanski family, the owners of the Manufaktura, located next to the museum. The building itself is wonderful and all the exhibitions about important people from Lodz are lovely. It was expecially thrilling to see the academy award of Rubinstein :)

The Museum is located in a fabulous building the Izrael Poznanski Palace demonstrating the wealth and riches enoyed by some in this Polish "Manchester". Much to see and enjoy but music fans will like the Artur Rubinstein exhibits and those interested in the Second World War will enjoy the exhibits relating to Jan Karski who was a hero of the...
