I visited the zoo during the renovation, it is small and the tour time is short for such a high ticket price. The animal enclosures are very nice. The animal keepers feed the animals at given times, which is an amazing spectacle for the children. Large playgrounds are included in the ticket price. There are also restaurants in the area

Very walkable little zoo with all the typical animals. There was a great deal of construction going on when we went (January 2020) that is due to be completed before the end of the year, but most of the animals were on display. The habitats are for the most part really nice - not many standard cages here. It's a good size for little kids, too, with a large playground (free) and a ropes course (additional fee) for those who need a break from animal viewing.
The only issue we had was that none of the food vendors were open the day we went. Whether this was because we went on a Shopping Ban Sunday, or because it was January and cold, I have no idea, but it was lunchtime and our kids were hungry, so we had to cut our visit short. That said - we were there for nearly three hours (could've stayed longer with food!) and it was definitely worth the entrance fee. We will go again if the opportunity presents itself - after the construction is done, and maybe with a couple of sandwiches in our bags.

Really nice place, lots of animals including the felines, giraffes, elephants, and some very nice surprises in the small aquarium they have. But better take cash because there no ATMs in a 1 km radius and they don´t take cards.

The building work is finally finished and the place is astonishing. The massive indoor Orientarium building is the size of Airport terminal and offers amazing pool with swimming ELEPHANTS! There is also separate tank with sharks and long tunnel as well as multitude of other species. Its deemed as most modern Zoo in Europe and it certainly shows. I ts amazing place to be in winter as temperature is around 25c ,so you can feel like on holiday! Highly recommended.

I spent an hour in the heat of the car with the wife and the kid to get to this place (not like these people are good at putting up signs to find it.
I spent the next half hour looking for a parking spot, which was non-existent and I had to park half a click away at Atlas arena.
After a nice stroll through Pilsudskiego park (really nice park) I arrived at the zoo only to find out that YOU CANNOT PAY WITHOUT CASH!!!
There are ticket machines wich both DO NOT ACCEPT CARDS or other things than cash.
So before we left, atleast we saw some animals.
- the common parking guard (dressiarżius alcoholicus):
A hairy toothless gorilla-like creature which is mostly found in small herds in front of the Biedronka of Lodz-Górna.
It is known for spitting, incoherent sounds and throwing empty bottles when startled.
- the bearded entrance lady (Lafirynda vulgaris):
Originally at home at the cash desk of one of the many empty shopping centers of the region, this specimen is stunning visitors by her incompetence and complete lack of empathy.
This creature has to be contained within a glas chamber as it is known to easily spread disease.
- The disappointed customer (clientes non reddentes):
This specimen is not to be seen, because he went home and shall most likely never return.

I go to every zoo in every town which I visited. This zoo was terrible. Animals with stereotypies, very small paddocs. Cockroaches (huge!) in pavilion with exotic pets were running around. Were everywhere!
Elephant - my reason of cry couldn't even walk in his box (he is living there all winter!!!) (look at the photo). I don't have words to describe how bad is this place to animals :( I think it should be closed, and animals should get to another place :(

My family and i chose to visit the zoo on the last day of our holiday as it was forecast to storm - though it only did for about 30 mins. My dad was anxious to visit the zoo as he last did 28 years ago and said animals seemed agitated in small enclosures. However of course it had all changed and all the animals seemed happy and had plenty of space. There were peacocks and a few cats roamig around which was nice and made for good photo opportunities. We had a hot dog and some ice cream in the cafe which was nice though it would've been good to have a slightly more formal restaurant with traditional polish foods. It was also a shame that the mini zoo wasn't open - we weren't sure if we could go in or not as some parts seemed like you could go in with the animals (i've experienced this in other european zoo's) but we were unsure. We also would've loved some souvenirs but the only items on sale appeared to be childrens toys etc. Though we can't really fault the day and the care the animals received :)

It is quite good with few annimals, typically for a city like Lodz. But comparing with other zoos like Warsaw or Wroclaw. It is cheap.

This Zoo really needs investment. But it's very nice place to visit, walk around and see wildlife animals. They had terrible story some time ago with giraffes, but hopefully it will newer happen again.
