This is a magical place, worth visiting when walking at Piotrkowska Street. This small side street is a project created by an artist Joanna Rajkowska who covered all walls with small pieces of mirrors reflecting light.

This place looks different any time of the day - we visited in the late afternoon in November, so it was already dark but with the lamps it was still beautiful

Pasaż Róży is a kind of mirror installation covering the walls of the former Hotel Polski. The project by Joanna Rajkowska is the biggest glass mosaic in Poland. You will easily find it at beginning of main walking street in Łódź- Piotrkowska.

Very cool side street off the longest shopping street in Europe. Too bad we visited at night; sun off the mirrors is probably quite a different experience. Also nicely landscaped areas nearby. Certainly worth the walk if you are in the area.

We are currently in Lodz and looked around for sights on the first day. At Piotrkowska Street 3 we became aware of this courtyard. The entire facade has been covered with broken glass and looks very impressive depending on the incidence of light. Definitely worth seeing.

Very original project in the centre of Łódź. It also has a symbolic meaning and reflects a way that artist’s daughter went through from being blind to be able to see again. Definately worth visiting, especially if you like taking pictures.

followed the crowd in to see this building - glad I did as I don't think I would see it anywhere else

Exploring Piotrkowska Street, don't miss this wonderful alleyway at No.3, Pasaż Róży (Rosa's Passage), whose walls are entirely covered in fragmented mirrors. It is only open between 8 am and 10 pm, and it is best experienced in sunlight anyway, as the shards reflect patterns onto the ground and onto visitors. It has a wonderful story too. Created by artist Joanna Rajkowska (b.1968; the same artist who did the Palm Tree in Warsaw) to reflect the light of the sky into an otherwise dark passage. It also has a personal significance, for it symbolizes the passage of the artist's young daughter from blindness to sight as she undergoes treatment for a type of eye cancer, retinoblastoma. Lot's of photo opportunities here, in fact it may be the most photographed site in Łódź, and it will reward the curious traveler who likes seeking out hidden places - then pop across Piotrkowska and check out the ceilings in the 1828 Church of the Holy Spirit (Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego) before it is renovated!

This unprepossessing (when seen from Piotrowska) alleyway is rightly popular with locals and tourists alike. The walls of all the buildings were covered painstakingly in glass fragments by a mother whose daughter lost most of her sight. This was intended to help her to continue to appreciate beauty - and, apparently, the story has a happy ending as the girl did, thanks to medical treatment, recover her sight. The legacy is this really quite extraordinary and unexpected place.

Interesting idea and motivation to create this art piece. Could be better in a sunny day, in cloudy day it is not so impressive

Crazy mirrored courtyard. Brilliant idea. At the end, which is actually open to the street behind, there are concerts on a little stage sometimes.
