This is yet another branch of local museum, called Muzeum Okręgowe - Wyspa Młyńska (Mill Island) is full of them. This one concentrates on modern art - not being the biggest fan of modern art I was keen to pass by this one, but then - why not give it a shot, who knowes when we'll get a chance to go back to Bydgoszcz. Large building, which I was more interested in, than the display itself, as it is one of former granaries, called Red Granary. Must have undergone a refurbishement quite recently, as looks new and sparkling, with flashy new glassed bit. Exhibition itself not the biggest I saw, but it takes some time to get around it, Some nice instalaltions. It was pretty much empty on that saturday midday time, so we had that al for ourselfs. Worth popping in.

The gallery is split into 4 floors. It is incredibly cheap and had some truly astonishing artwork that contends with many other galleries I've been to all over London! Worth a visit if you're in the area.

The gallery has a very interesting and unique modern art collection from polish artists.
I was happily surprised with the art works. Most of these are from the early and mid XX century.
You can get a glance of the artistic movements in Poland. Post impressionism, expressionism, abstractionism, and some cubism as well.
The staff was really friendly.

This was a wonderful little find. I was the only visitor there and had unobstructed views of all the amazing artwork. I'm no art critic but there was lots there that I liked and could thankfully take photos of - no flash ! There were also a few pieces I looked at and thought....!?? But then wouldn't it be boring if we all had the same tastes!

Paintings and installations in two big rooms representing the history of Polish art in the last century. There are numerous pieces of famous artists like Malczewski, Beksinski, Nowosielski or Wyczolkowski. Very interesting information was provided by the staff available to explain single elements of the exhibition. Some temporary expositions are open in time to time (such as that of artistic glass), everything for free on Saturday.
