About
The Basilica is not very far from Bydgoszcz Bus Station. I had visited the Basilica once before in winter, and had not appreciated its merits, as then it was a grey day. When I visited the Basilica in May 2012, it was on a bright sunny day. The architecture is in the Classic style, and the building is large. I liked the way the colours of the walls stood out subtly under the bright sunlight. I was also struck by the memorial to the Smolensk air crash. The next time I stay in Bydgoszcz I will make a point of visting the Basilica again, because I have not been in many buildings similar to its vast, spacious interior and the Classical style of architecture suits my tastes..

A bit off the beaten track from the center and the old town. However, you can easily walk or drive to it. Interesting construction. Quite an interesting style. Most interestingly, it is probably the largest dome in Poland. In terms of size, the basilica is also quite large. If someone is especially from abroad or is interested in the culture of today's Poland. It is also worth going to mass there.

This grand church is magnificent inside and out. It impresses with beautiful architecture with classic proportions, powerful yet graceful appearance. It was built between 1925 and 1939 and I believe Nazis had some intentions of destroying this structure. Thankfully the Basilica survived and now is the biggest church of Bydgoszcz. It is designed like the Roman Pantheon. The front door is called the door of blessings. Many indoor elements and details were designed by architect professor Wiktor Zin. After you visit the Basilica church proceed with the exploration of the surrounding Sielanka section of Bydgoszcz created in the beginning of 20th century as a green district of the city with streets lined up with pretty villas and trees.

Because of our interest in religion, architecture, history, and art, we were taken to this beautiful and impressive house of worship by friends from Poland. One of our Polish friends took his first sacraments here. The lighting in the Basilica is not particularly conducive to taking photographs. This is well worth visiting when in Bydgoszcz.

Not only the sheer scale and grandeur of this building is impressive but you simply must take a look inside. The ornate and detailed works are a thing of art and the ceiling is something to behold

We visited the basilica on our last day in Bydgoszcz and wished we'd visited before then. The scale and magnitude of the building is breathtaking whilst the artwork is truly stunning. Well worth a visit although spend more time there than we did!

Very impressive (of course can't compare with the biggest basilicas in the world, but considering the size of the city it is something) both from inside and outside. A bit further from teh centre but within the walking distance (also within the walking distance from train station). The big shopping centre and an alley of very old trees near.

Nice place worth a visit, try and get up into the dome it is worth the climb. For a modern building it had been constructed well giving it the impression of being a lot older than it is.

Beautiful city is full of history. easy to get around walking or trams. The city has modern and old with new centers plenty of places to eat and very cheap. Try to get a tourist book before you go as hard to find in city. If you love history quiet and a pleasure this is the place. Airport is small so no waiting for bags. second trip this time and hiring car (also cheap) from airport *rentalcars.com. In summer there is a water festival. The history of Bydgoszcz will surprise you.

This is a huge more modern but stunning building although we didn't spend too long in it as there isn't much else to do at it other than have a quick look . If you are on your way to the Bus Station it is not too far away and definitely worth a detour.
