- rtdoodManchester, United Kingdom818 contributionsA small but pretty and easily accessible area to visit for an hourThis is a nice pleasant rejuvenated area nearly surrounded by the waterways with several museums housed in various historical buildings such as the main mill. Its possible to walk round in a circle following a quiet cobbled road. On the way there is a area where the pavement slopes to the waterway to feed ducks. Further on you can explore closer to a renovated sports club and factory and learn about the importance of the waterways to the towns development with a small waterfall present. Linking back you can cross a small park space with several trees dotted around before crossing a bridge back into the old town. Its quite a small area so I was able to do this in about an hour, but is worth it if you want to orientate yourself to the area if staying for a few days. I went early in the morning around 9am, so the museums were not open.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten December 20, 2023

Many places have been restored. Bydgoszcz can boast not only a nice and interesting view, but also an original one. There are also museums and a beautiful new place with rebuilt old mills.Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten January 13, 2024

Mill island by the Old Town was Bydgoszcz’s hive of industry from Medieval times. There are a few mill buildings standing here from the 1800s. They have been spruced up and turned into attractions. Island has green spaces bordering the peaceful loop in the Brda, which has clear water and waterfowl on its banks. During summertime you can rent a rowboat, potter around the quaint specialty shops or sip a cold beer outside in one of many restaurants.

Close to Mill's Island, you will find a lot of restaurants and bars, and the island itself features a little Venice and a little of green for a nice walk after or before the dinner.

Nice and clean island a must see if you go to Bydgoszcz but if you go during winter not many things to do rather than a beautiful walk.

A true oasis in the city center. Beautiful Island with grass to play and rest, but with awesome view on interesting architecture. You can't say you saw Bydgoszcz if you haven't been there!
