The Bydgoszcz cathedral dates back to 15th century and was built in Gothic style. We were simply stunned by the interior - colourful polychromes, stained glass windows, fantastic architecture (vault). You've got to see it by yourself.

Bydgoszcz cathedral goes back to 1346, the year that Bydgoszcz became a city.
The first building burned down in the middle of the 15th century. This Brick Gothic edifice went up in its place in 1502 and at the entrance are Renaissance doors carved in the 17th century and bearing the city’s coats of arms and the initials of city guilds and townsmen.
When you enter you may be bowled over by the symphony of colour on the walls and in the vaults, all painted in intricate patterns in the early 1920s by Henryk Nostitz-Jackowski.

On the riverside of Brda River is St. Martin and St. Nicholas Cathedral. It is a Catholic church which was built in the 15th Century and has a Gothic style and serves as a parish church and cathedral of the Diocese of Bydgoszcz. It was given cathedral status by Pope John Paul II in March 2004. Inside the cathedral it is very ornate and quite captivating. The cathedral is incredibly charming and is worth seeking out whilst in Bydgoszcz.

This is probably the most popular and well known 15th century church of Bydgoszcz. It stands witness to the life of the city of Bydgoszcz for over half of millennium. It has the rank of Cathedral. It has two historically important paintings of St Mary. One of them is in the Main Altar sine 1467. It is Mother of God with the Rose in Her Hand. The other one dates 1700 and is in Northern Nave. Most of ornate impressive interior is in Baroque and Rococo styles.
For those who are Catholic it seems like this church offers confessions everyday whole day.
Beautiful church and urban spiritual center.

I have a real sentiment for this church. It is a beautiful cathedral but it is not huge in size or overwhelming. Upon walking in you will instinctively and inevitably feel the sense of "peace and quiet". For Catholics there are 24 hour confessions available, I believe. It is a great house of prayer. The atmosphere condones mindfulness, meditation, reflection and prayer.
The church is Gothic in style but a lot of decorations and side altars seem to be in baroque style. the 1467 painting of Mother of God with a Rose is particularly revered locally. During the second world war the picture was hidden from Nazis. There is also another interesting picture of Mary of the Scapular dated 1700 .
This church should never be omitted by any visitor to Bydgoszcz.

This may not be on Unesco, but it should be. Small, quaint, but marvelously painted with a very unique pallet that is distinctly different from most cathedrals. I think this is a must see.

St. Martin & Nicholas Cathedral is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. It is by far the most colorful I have seen anywhere. AS it sits in central Poland it has a certain eastern flair that you may recognize from other Russian Orthodox churches, while maintaining the traditional Catholic architecture.

St. Martin and St. Nicholas Cathedral, located adjacent to the town square, is Bydgoszcz's oldest remaining church, with parts of this beautiful church dating back to the middle of the 15th century. This church has a colorful interior. Photographs are permitted.

This is the youngest cathedral in Poland, gained that status only in 2004. But the church itself is much older, as it reaches back to mid 14th century, when first church in Bydgoszcz has been built - possibly a wooden one. The church we know today appeared in mid 15th century. Then obviously rebuilt and reconstructed quite a few times. What really stroke us while entering the cathedral was those intense colours you wouldn't usually associate with churches - purple and red. Lots of heritage artefact on display. Open for the most of the day - I would recommend entry via southern door, which is an example of fine metalwork, with large images forged in metal. Recently renowated, and that renowation led to discovery of a treasure in 2018, mainly of old coins - that in turn led to establishing a small museum, where thi treasure is exhibited. The church is in pedestrian zone of Bydgoszcz, so one can get there on foot only, but it isn't that far from nearest car parks.
