Agata gave us a very helpful and informative trip to the town my grandmother was born in early in the 20th century. She even found one of my ancestor's birth records in an old Polish archive! The whole thing made the past come alive - suddenly, stories I had heard as a child became real, seeing the places they happened (and even some pictures from the time). She took us to places other guides might not have even thought of, such as the site where the local highway department has a store of headstones they discovered while doing roadwork. She was extremely knowledgeable and flexible, taking us to a town we hadn't even planned on going to once we expressed interest in it. She also had many things to suggest for our time on our own in Lublin, and speaks extremely good English. Overall, we highly recommend her!

Agata is an outstanding guide. She is a delightful person, extremely knowledgeable and well-organized. She arranged an amazing two days for us. I was interested in seeing the towns along the Bug River in Poland and Belarus that my grandparents were from. On the first day, Agata (and her husband) picked us up in Warsaw, drove us to the village and border towns, showed us what there was to see, arranged and navigated the border crossing into Belarus (and back), arranged for a local guide in Belarus and brought us to Lublin for the night. The next day, she gave us a wonderful tour of Lublin, including the Grodzka Gate Museum and the Yeshiva, and then drove us to Krakow. We are extremely grateful to Agata for arranging this experience for us. We learned a lot, and found the experience very moving. We were impressed with the research that Agata had done and the arrangements she had made to ensure that we had an informative and meaningful experience. I can’t imagine a better guide for this type of experience or for the Lublin area which Agata knows so well.

I highly recommend Rootka tours for an informative, meaningful, memorable trip to Poland. Joanna was thorough and patient in organizing several days of tracing family roots in Poland-- Krakow, Auschwitz, Lublin, Warsaw and beyond. Alon was our guide through the towns Hrubieszow and Zamosz. He was extremely knowledgeable, insightful, articulate, and sensitive to our needs, I cannot imagine a better tour.

I had the very good fortune to plan a trip to visit my parents birth cities with Rootka. Agata planned the entire trip and had done an incredible amount of research and left me with no unanswered questions. She bought photos of the town from the period my parents were actually there. Affording me to actually have thorough understanding of the era. She is quite a scholar of the period and was able to fully describe in layman’s terms that period surrounding the holocast and the prelude to it. Finally she possesses the necessary people skills to make a trip of this unfortunate era in a most palatable fashion.

Agata was a great leader for our amazing Lublin to Lutowiska to Krakow adventure. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Poland, whether responding patiently to our random questions ranging from Lublin's Jewish cemetery to recent political issues or helping with our pathetic Polish pronounciation (while stifling her giggles). To enhance our experience, she set up an informative tour with a local guide residing in Lutowiska and even a short visit with some bison. Agata's travel suggestions were first-rate; we all enjoyed a lovely overnight at a hotel in the carpathian mountains and a beautiful hike in the Bialowieza National Park, before driving on to Krakow. Our multi-generation group that doesn't agree on much highly recommends Agata-- she guided us with wisdom and good humor.
