Stare Jatki Street is one of Wrocław's most engaging streets. Its picturesque charm is no doubt due to the fact that it has retained its medieval character throughout the ages. Most of the structures on Stare Jatki date from the 17th and 18th centuries, the line of low level buildings were constructed on medieval foundations and some elements from the 13th century are still visible on the south side of the street.

Our hotel was close to Jatki so we walked through this lovely old street a number of times. The bronze animals are quite an attraction, particularly for children, but the little artisan shops of the this old butchers squarter were worth visiting too. Very atmospheric.

This is a beautiful street to visit in this most beautiful of cities.
Walking down this street you step back in time, in days gone by this street was former slaughterhouse area hence the fabulous bronze animals on display but now there is row of craft and art shop's here were you can purchase some great souvenirs at a very reasonable price.
A fabulous tourist attraction and well worth checking out and easy to locate ,get a tourist map from your hotel and this attraction will be pinpointed.

Nothing special. Some shops in a former meat market that have some animal statues in the courtyard to pay respect to all the animals slaughtered.

The old city's medieval butcheries have beemn restored and converted in small shops for artists. The narrow pedestrian lane has a nice atmosphere,. At its entrance there are some metal statues of the animals who were butchered here once.

Old street that used to be a butchers' alley, half a dozen or so small craft shops selling souvenirs and old buildings. Good for photos and pottering around, nice old buildings and quiet. Just a few minutes walk from the main square but easy to miss.

This is a very old street of the city. The small sculptors of the animals are lovely and evrybody who passes makes a photo of it - if you are able as there are always children groups around.

Just like the Shambles in York, this is one of the oldest streets in Wroclaw where the meat merchants were. Check out the couple of trap doors in the floor where goods were lowered into cellars and the gutter running the length of the street where blood and waste used to run. Now redeveloped into small galleries selling souvenirs there are some animal bronzes at one end.
Well worth a quick look.

Loved this old ?slaughterhouses with pretty animal sculptures. Great small arcade of shops selling unusual pieces made in Poland. Came back with some lovely glass fishes. Nice to get away from mass produced imports. Greatly added to my enjoyment of Wroclaw

Once upon a time the street was full of butcher's shops, thus the statues of farm animals. Now there are many art and craft shops. Worth a stroll through.
