- MrThomas1981Ipswich, United Kingdom955 contributionsPretty outside but not much for the casual tourist insideThe market hall is impressive from the outside and inside is a typical eastern european market. It is mainly meats, cheese the odd refreshment stall and loads of stalls selling wreaths and other arranged flowers. If you have flown in on cheap ryanair flight and are staying somewhere without catering facilities then the produce is unlikely to be of much use. Same for the flowers - beautiful as they are unless you have a nearby relative to visit or are attending a funeral, they are not going to fit in the cabin baggage sizer! Go for a wander, then stop for a beer in the bar in the basement.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 3, 2024

The market hall is a locals market that specialises in fresh produce ,fruit ,vegetables, fish ,meats ,cheeses and the like ,for me I love to visit the craft beer bar inside the market hall ,its such an evocative looking building, the tower is superb but the overall look of this solid red brick structure is very pleasant on the eye, its such a photogenic building, its easy to locate along Ulica Piaskowa across from the stunning Cathedral Island complex. Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 18, 2024

The building looks better from the outside than it does on the inside and was probably expecting a bit more from such a big indoor market. That said if you want plenty of fresh fruit, look no further. If you are passing worth calling in for 5 mins and tick it off the list.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 11, 2024

Very much a functioning market hall geared towards locals eg meat, fruit, vegetables etc.
Still worth a detour if on your way to Cathedral Island.
Very cheap food can be bought sold by small kitchens at side of hall - good staple fare such as pork with potatoes & vegetables or pierogi. Think we paid about £5 GBP for two lunches.

Very pretty, clean city with a lot of things to do. We really liked the colorful market square, the hydropolis, zoo & affricarium, the miniature museum (kolejkowo), the amazing views from the penitent bridge, Hochberg's Chapel, the cathedral island and so much more. It's truly a hidden gem! It is also very family friendly and has a lot of attractions to keep the little ones occupied :)

The Bratislava covered market is located near the Odra river, on the bank opposite the cathedral island. Housed in a building of the early twentieth century, where the Arsenal once stood, it is a pleasant enough market to attend with food banks to occupy the large space on the ground floor and various shops upstairs. In this market there are various products, not only local, with a prevalence of vegetables, cold cuts and cheeses but also bakery and confectionery. A discreet space on the ground floor is occupied by colorful stalls selling flowers. It is worth a look at at least.

Good local varied market. Like others we enjoy a good local market of the area. I found superb warm cosy slippers with proper soles not the crappy ones in a lot of places in the UK. Dried local forest fungi. F&V is lovely to see and the big black plums were superb for brekkie today. I also bought some proper Polish smoked sausage to chomp on on the plane at the end of the week. The plane is going to reek of garlic !😂 Lovely to wander around and take in the local 'feel' of Wroclaw. The local eateries looked good - lots of locals eating there. Nice building with HUGE vaulted ceilings.

We just walked through on our way somewhere to see the internal architecture. It is amazing. There looked to be a great array of stalls selling all sorts of food, drinks and other items. I am sure you could get a decent bit of food here on the go.

The Sunday market is a collection of vendors selling various different junk. It's quite literally junk. Nothing to get excited about, well worth a Sunday morning lie-in as opposed to visiting this.

On the 2 occasions that I have visited friends in Wroclaw, I have always clamored to come back to this place. The Market Hall is housed in a high-celinged, multi-level buidling constructed between 1906-08 by German architect Richard Plueddemann; I am personally a fan of turn-of-the century architecture such as this, with its art deco-ish touches. The environment inside is lively and bustling much of the time, so be certain to stick close to other members of your party. The gound level of Hala Targowa serves as a market for practical items -- there are many vendors on the ground level offering fresh produce, candies, spices, dry and packaged food... basically anything you could find at a supermarket, but in a much more visually interesting environment. Many of the vendors I encountered spoke only Polish, so if you want the good prices and product offered by one of them, be prepared to point and try to pronounce words from a phrasebook if you don't speak Polish. If you go up to the second floor (the one above the ground floor), you can find booths selling housewares, kitchenware, and electronics, as well as cosmetics, toiletries, and personal items. However, my favorite aspect about the Market Hall are its specialized boutiques -- they are ideal for those wanting to pick up souvenirs or cute clothes to take home with them. One vendors specializes in goods from Asia; another sells a rainbow of different colors of tights (with different patterns and styles) and sleepwear/intimates. My favorite vendor, however, is the T-shirt and souvenir vendor, also on the second floor, which sells T-shirts, patches, mugs and other items printed with amusing sayings in Polish, as well as classic designs from Polish history: movie posters, advertisements, public service announcement, government campaigns, etc. I have bought a fair amount of stuff here when looking for a fun, uniquely Polish souvenir for friends back home. Other booths located on the second and third floors have other interesting consumer goods. This market hall is worth a wander if you are an American such as myself, as we don't really have public commerce halls such as this. It lovely to look around in here, there's interesting shopping possibilities, and it's something to do when the weather outside isn't so great.

This is a bustling place where you can buy everything. Worth looking at the meat, the different fruit and vegetables, the wonderful array of dried fruit, and the stall after stall of wreaths and lamps to put on the grave of your loved one. There are cafes for a cup of tea, or you can have your lunch with all the locals. Try eight Russian pierogi for 5 zloty - share the plate with a friend though but it is food to stick to your ribs and keep you warm. Well worth a trip to see what is on offer
