Of the moat exist and provide a decent quiet area and on a nice sunny day to promenade. There were plenty of fish evident in some stretches. It's not continuous as the moat is dissected by many roads.

At first you would think it is a small river, but this was the real moat at the city wall in the middle age. Not a continous one, at some parts there is a nice park to walk.

The Inner City Moat is a very distinctive feature of Wrocław and harks back to the days when this city was a fortress city.
The moat makes for some great photographic opportunities and makes for a nice place to stroll around .
This moat system is not a must go destination, it's probably not on everyone's list of attractions to visit but I thought the Inner City Moat system looked cool when I first viewed it and my opinion it has not changed since.
If your walking around this beautiful city your sure to come across sections of the Inner City Moat.
Well worth checking out.

Wroclaw has retained a significant section of the city's defences. The area has now been protected by parkland, shrubs and mature trees. It offers lovely views over the water to the remaining bastions and of course it's many bridges.

My hotel is located near certain sections of this park. It has lots of trees and paved wide pathways where one can bike, run, walk, etc.

There is a miniature sculpture of how the Inner City Moat looked like in the old days. Quite visible as I walked from my hotel to the Old Town.

We came here as part of the Free Wroclaw Walking Tour. It is a nice walk and pretty to see. Seems to be on the edges of the center coming here helped us locate the Municipal Records Office which was nearby. That office is important for visitors wanting to obtain their Polish birth certificates.

The Inner City Moat is a lovely area of the city to just stroll around and take in some nice peaceful sites.
The moat harks back to the days when the city was a fortification.
There are many nice rivers that make up the Inner city Moat and it's nice to just walk around and take in a café or a bar and just chill out.
It's not on the top of everyone's list of things to do in this wonderful city but it really is well worth checking out.

Not really many real moats survived the times of modernisation of cities in Europe. Probably overlooked but truly a monument of the past and great indication of the size of the old town section of Wrocław. You can have a nice stroll along it, it is about 4,5 km (3 miles) long.
