About
Museum of Pan Tadeusz tells the story of an extraordinary book – the only existing manuscript of Adam Mickiewicz's Pan Tadeusz, accompanied by several hundred authentic other manuscripts, old prints, etchings, paintings, sculptures and objects of daily use and complemented by over a hundred applications and multimedia presentations create an impressive invitation to a conversation about Polish culture and the history of struggle for an independent country.
Exhibitions dedicated to “witnesses of history” – Jan Nowak-Jeziorański and Władysław Bartoszewski, as well as a rich educational and art programme of the Museum expand the perspective and offer a chance to enter a real dialogue with the most interesting themes in contemporary culture.
Pan Tadeusz Różewicz is the third permanent exhibition about one of the greatest modern polish poet and playwright. He was another 20th century hero, who also fought in the WWII, but when it ended, refrained from political engagement.

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. Didn't know anything about Adam Mickiewicz or Pan Tadeusz. But this place is curated in such a way that it is a piece of art itself - even if you know nothing about Mickiewicz or Pan Tadeuz, you can still enjoy it, and you feel inspired to find out more about him and the poem and come out getting greater appreciation of Polish culture (and am no history buff or anything).
The only reason I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars is that, it does take some effort for a non-Polish person with limited knowledge of Polish history, to understand what the different rooms and each exhibitions are about, and how they are linked together. You can enjoy it regardless, because it's in a beautiful setting with loads of interactive tools, but I wish there were some more explanations upon entrance to each of different parts of the room which makes the connection super obvious, rather than having to go around the rooms slightly puzzled and having the ah-ha moment a bit later.
It's a stunning place though, and crazy value for money (1 zloty per person on Sundays). I really wish more people would go see it - you could do much more marketing of the place to give the place the attention it deserves!

For me, one born and raised in Poland, to go to the "Pan Tadeusz" Museum was a must, but I would not drag with me my husband if I had not read before that visiting this museum is amazing experience also for those who do not know Mickiewicz and his works. The museum is simply amazing, with very high technology showing and explaining the times in which the work was written. Highly recommended for everyone.

We came across this Museum by chance. It is situated in the main square between a coffe shop and a hotel. Very cheap entry fee with free aut guide in English. The exhibition tells how a famous Polish poem related to life in centuries past and also to modern life. Nice balance of actual and computerised exhibits . Superb building showing modern and ancient constructions, don't forget to look up, the ceilings are stunning..superb exhibits throughout. We enjoyed this visit very much.

like many other reviewers, we found ourselves in the Pan Tadeusz museum without knowing what it was but the cheap entrance fee (1 zloty on a Sunday!) and the nice warm interior drew us in.
What a lovely surprise, very cleverly done with lots of interactive technology our children aged 13 and 10 enjoyed it all. we found ourselves drawn into the story of how the epic poem was written and how important it is to Polish history - don`t forget to look up at the beautiful painted beams on the ceilings, we really enjoyed our visit

We didn’t mean to visit - originally tried to go to a different museum which google maps showed incorrectly in the Rynek. Instead of walking further we decided to see this museum although we had no clue what Pan Tadeusz was (a book) or the era of the museum, which focuses on early 19th century and hope of Poland to gain independence through Napoleonic allegiance. However it also is located in a gorgeous medieval building with marvelous architecture and painted ceilings, plus has a companion exhibit of Wroclaw after WWII so gives you three different eras for one low price entry - we Paid 1 zl because it was Sunday! Normally 12 zl for the companion exhibit and main Pan Tadeusz exhibit is free!
They have done an amazing job of introducing multimedia into every room- touch screens, waving arms (comical when it doesn’t work!), free headsets and extremely helpful staff and docents who seem eager to fill in any gaps. Toilets on every half floor and elevator make it quite accessible, with many additional facilities like education areas down below.
We only had 1 hour so breezed through but could happily have spent a couple more there!

We were recommended this Museum casually and didn't expect much . We were pleasantly surprised as it is very interesting and very interactive . It's based on the history of an epic poem which itself conveys much of the history and values of Poland and it spins off from these. There is an audio tour in English and the tour guides are very helpful . There are lots of activities and it would be good for children. We liked the interactive corridor where you walk though quotes !

This new museum is in a stunning historic building. If you are not interested in the subject matter, you can just consider visiting it to see the building (esp. the ceilings are spectacular). The museum is devoted to Poland's national poet Adam Mickiewicz. The museum contains on display the manuscript of the national epic "Pan Tadeusz". In addition, there are two more floors devoted to activities of two heroic individuals who fought for Poland's independence during and after WWII, Jan Nowak and Wladyslaw Bartoszewski. Archives of their activities are now part of the Ossolineum Library, the owner of this museum. The 21st technology present everywhere is simply stunning, although the final result might be disorienting for older people.

New modern museum about literature, history and way to freedom. Stunning hi-tech exposition, which is absolutely must see. For now it is the most interesting museum in Wroclaw.

The museum consists of three permanent exhibitions. Here, you can learn about literature and political moods from the Romantic era. Of course, there is plenty of information about Adam Mickiewicz's biography. Then, we will come across personal belongings of Jeziorański and Bartoszewski. The guiding theme of the tour is freedom. In the end, we will delve into some poetry from the manuscripts of Wrocław's poet - Tadeusz Różewicz. You can enrich your time in the museum by visiting the museum's bookstore and the café "Ashes and Diamonds."

This is one of the very few museums in Wroclaw which is entirely made in English in German. All the applications, subtitles, signs are in English/German, plus there are audioguides in four languages and a possibility of booking a guided tour. Highly recommended :)
