About
Lomnica Castle in the Karkonosze Mountains is a magical place with its two castles, extensive park and a manor house. Romantic hotel, the castle museum and the manor house with many shops and two restaurants offer many attractions. The cosy hotel is the ideal place for unforgettable stays in the Valley of Palaces and Gardens. Two restaurants invite you to enjoy culinary delights: the elegant Castle Restaurant with a young, creative, rural estate cuisine and the rustic self-service Restaurant „The Old Stable”. Both restaurants cook with fresh ingredients from our own kitchen garden and regional products. On the manor farm with its lineshop, farm shop and bakery you can discover many high-quality regional and locksmith products. In the Museum in the Great Castle with its multimedia exhibit „Three Centuries of Life at Lomnica Castle" you can immerse yourself in the world of the former castle inhabitants on three floors with historical rooms.

Lomnica Palace surrounded by a little old park offers rooms in so called “little palace” building and gardener lodge. Furniture is old, stylish and functional. The food in the palace restaurant is gorgeous and not cheap. Restaurant at grange is good. There are guided tours organised to visit the site and the interiors of Lomnica Palace. Frankly speaking there is more furniture and interesting things to see than in Cracow’s castle. Owner and the entire staff is very friendly and attentive making the time there tranquil and very relaxing. They have great focus on even little details to make the stay enjoyable.
Falcon mountains (Góry Sokole) are picturesque and easy for walking, running, horse riding.

The hotel is in the middle of a York. The room was spacious on the 2nd floor. Even with high outside temperatures of 30 degrees, it wasn't a problem, as the nights were cool, as we are in the foothills of the Giant Mountains.
The breakfast buffet is great! Everything your heart desires can be found in the dining room on the 1st floor. You should reserve a table in the evening. Here, too, the Silesian cuisine was absolutely top-notch! All fresh ingredients and superbly prepared! The trout and the pierogi are highly recommended. The carpaccio was also top-notch. I can also confirm that the enthusiasm of the ladies in the service was less on the weekend than on Friday. Well, it didn't spoil the stay.
Conclusion: Absolutely recommended! ... including the farm shop!

Palace Lomnica has been restored to previous splendor by polish-german foundation led by original owner's grand-daughter , I believe. In any case restoration work to palace and surrounding area is of high quality, well worth visiting. After contemplating on by-gone era pictures and artifacts, one may refresh itself in estate's own restaurant.

After 2 very happy stays at Palac Lomnica, we were really looking forward to our return visit, after 8 yrs. What a disaster our 3rd visit turned out to be!
The hotel is the same. Nothing has changed and it still is a lovely mansion, with beautiful grounds. BUT, unfortunately, our stay was such a disappointment and I mostly blame Booking.com ,as we have encountered this situation with them once before.
So, I would like to warn future guests who book a room at Lomnica to make sure they are getting the room they have selected and not a MUCH smaller and inferior one, which, ridiculously, is supposed to be in the same category.
We had stayed in the room I selected....exact photo shown by Booking.com, but, when we arrived, we were told that there are 3 -4 rooms in the same category and we would be staying in another one, Room 12. Be warned. This is definitely NOT a superior room. It is an attic room with 2 tiny windows and a wall comes in the middle of the space, so we are talking about 2 tiny rooms. If you sit in the armchairs, you face a cupboard, 1 - 2 meters from your face.
The bathroom is tiny.
The bed is behind a door and under a slanting ceiling. When I lay down, the ceiling was just above my head. I really felt claustophobic and kept waking up during the night. The room I had selected was very spacious with BIG windows overlooking the garden.
Needless to say, we left the next morning, our stay totally spoilt. What upset me more than anything is the receptionist and manageress insisting that both rooms are of the same standard. Do they really think their guests are so stupid?

Again excellent example of restoringg a historical building and putting it into a good use.
There is a fee for visiting musuem but roaming the park is free.

We spent 1 day at this place and were amazed how just one spot can activate the local area. I am so happy that there are people like Mrs and Mr Küster, with vision and passion. Thanks for them the forgotten places are returned to all of us.
